Story
We got her at the Dekalb county shelter in Ft . Payne , Alabama . on January 22 nd .We have a 10 year old chihuahua and they are just not getting along with each other . Gracie is ok with our chihuahua but since our chihuahua has been an ( only ) dog for the last 10 years , she is hesitated in being friends . The chip Gracie has does have our information on it . She is well behaved , and sits on comand .she wants to run outside and we don't want her to get lost because we live in a country setting , thus part of our delima with keeping her . This dog is sweet so if you can help , we will appreciate it as we really don't want to take her back to that shelter . We are willing to travel if its under 100 miles to transport this dog if we find her a new home . 🏡

Elmo is the 3rd dog that has been in his foster home for way too long! He was rescued from a southern shelter where he and his mother and siblings were set to be Euthanized in Sept of 2023. Its been almost 15 months since he was saved His mother two sisters and 3 brothers have all found homes. Now its his turn. Oscar weighs 45 pounds and will be 2 yrs old mid December. We believe Elmo might just have some Boxer mix in him. He was a bit timid in the beginning, but he has come around to trusting us at his foster home. He loves racing his brother Ernie when tossing toys, especially balls and knotted ropes and playing tug of war with him. Elmo currently weighs 40 pounds is neutered, tested negative for heartworms, up to date on all vaccines, and he has been on his monthly prevention for heartworms, flea, ticks and parasites.   Adoption Fee is $325 to help cover the cost of vetting, neuter, vaccines and preventatives as well as daily needs. UPDATE ON LOKI'S PROGRESS:   Well Loki has come so so far from when he first arrived as a terrified, confused dog. He is now a playful, spunky, mischievous guy and we feel its time for the next chapter in his life. We feel he needs his permanent home now. He will still need an experienced handler and someone with the patience we have shown him. He will come around and learn to trust and love you as he does me and my husband. He still prefers me over my husband but he will now go outside for him in the mornings, he lays with him in bed and gives him kisses and waits for belly rubs.   There are some things that need to be discussed with his new family, like for one, he will only stay out to potty if I or my husband stay out there with him. He goes out with a pack of 7 dogs and he plays with them and they all get the zoomies, chasing one another around the yard. Loki absolutely loves his play time with his buddies!   Another thing is he absolutely hates a crate! He destroyed the top of a wire crate to get out. He loves to sleep in bed with us at night and when we leave him alone at home, we put him with one of the other dogs in a separate room and play the TV and he seems to do fine with that. If not he has separation anxiety. These are fixable with the right person who is willing to work through his issues.   Loki is neutered,up to date on DAPPV, Boretella, and rabies. He tested negative for heart worm and has been started on monthly prevention. Loki gets along great with other dogs. I've seen him go nose to nose with cats and doesn't seem to mind them one way or the other. He loves kids and was bonded with a teenage girl before coming to rescue.   We do not know his history before that. We know he is about 8 months old and he is mostly if not ALL Belgian Malinois.   So if you are interested in adopting Loki, please reach out to me personally and we can talk. There is an adoption fee and contract to sign.     Loki is a 7 month old, 38 pound Belgian Malinois that needs an experienced handler. He has not had a lot of training at this point but is very sweet once he is comfortable with you. Loki seems to prefer women over men but with kindness and patience, Loki does come around to men.He currently sleeps with his foster mom and dad and will give his foster dad kisses and will snuggle with him at night. Loki is great with kids and other dogs. He loves running in wide open spaces and zoom around the yard with them. He likes to wrestle in the house. He seems fine around cats but we are not 100% sure about that. He has just come nose to nose with the barn cats and doesn't seem to mind them. EXPERIENCED HANDLERS ONLY! To apply please visit our website at https://www.ffosk9resq.org/ There is a $325 adoption fee   Once the application is submitted his foster mom with start processing the application and all the necessary calls are made someone will be in touch.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  We are a home based, not for profit organization in Northeast Alabama that helps place forgotten and unwanted pets in forever homes.  We are an all volunteer, 501(c)3  organization.  We rescue pets from high kill shelters, prior to being euthanized, as well as strays and unwanted pets. Benji is a 9  month old, 68 pound Doodle but we do not what he is mixed with. He is super sweet and loving. He gets along well with other dogs and cats. He is house broke and likes to go into a crate to take a nap. He has been around chickens, ducks, geese, sheep, goats and rabbits and does very well with them. Benji was a stray that showed up at his foster moms neighbors house and when they ran him off he started sleeping in the garage with cats, kittens and a few chickens and ducks. All he wanted was for some to care for him and love him. Benji went to the groomers and he did very well! He will need regular grooming for his soft thick hair. To adopt please visit our website @ https://www.ffosk9resq.org/ to fill out an application. Once the application is received Benji's foster mom will process the app and make all the necessary calls. Once that is done she will be in touch with you. We will not answer any questions until application is processed.
