Story
we have had Grendel for 6-7 and he is about that old. We lived in an apt for a year and he was house trained then but he has since then been outside in a fenced in yard and heated dog house. We have a 4 yr old and a 1 yr old. He leaves them alone for the most part, I am just not comfortable with them out playing with him, so I put him on the leash when they are outside. He would love to play with them he is just so strong I’m scared he will accidentally hurt them. He get next to no attention from us. So when he does get it he is extra hyper and jumpy. He chews on anything left in the yard and digs. I assume that is because he is bored and could be fixed with attention. We have an older shih tzu that he leaves alone. We have found he will whine when away from our house. He will need someone that can take the time to work with him and let him adjust to a new home. He really needs somewhere where he can run and some one who is not intimidated by him jumping on them until that

Story
Hi, Im Simba! 🐶 I was born in February of 2020 and I am a loving, playful, protective Jack Russel Terrier-Chihuahua mix. I love being outdoors and enjoy being around other animals, although I can be a bit protective and territorial at times. It’s only for the safety of my mom though! My mom thinks my ideal adopter is someone who has a backyard for me to roam, maybe even land with animals so I can train to be a herd dog because I am so quick! The ideal adopter can also be someone who is elderly as I currently reside with my grandparents and enjoy lounging around and taking naps. I will protect you and your home while being a great companion 😊

Story
We adopted Sheila from the GBHS in May 2024, when she was a skin-and-bones 5-month-old, spayed the previous day. Her eyes melted our hearts, as they continue to do. Our intention was to add her to our family as in indoor dog, but now she's a very healthy 38lb 1-yr-old, solid muscle, and needs much more exercise than we can provide in our late-60s & early 70s. She constantly pulls on a leash, and although she sits on command, the word Stay! barely registers before she leaps up and barks at other dogs, wagging and wanting to play, but still pulling hard on her harness. Our yard is on a steep slope with a 3ft chainlink fence, but Sheila can no longer be trusted to exercise on her own without escaping. Her being chipped helps. We also have an aging 14-year-old dog rescue as well as a rescue cat, both of which grudgingly yield the floor to escape her attempts to play or get attention. Please help us find her a home where she can safely play and run without pulling us into the street!

Story
Henry is a great pet. He loves being with the family. He is about 7 years old but loves to play like a puppy. He has his favorite toy and all you have to do is ask him where his toy is and runs to get it. He loves to play keep away. He has been part of our family since he was six weeks old. I am 80 years old and recovering from lung cancer and just not physically able to care for him as he needs to be.
