Story
Meet Washington, the Lab mix who will steal your heart with his goofy grin and boundless love! Washington is a 2-year-old adult male who is full of life and energy. 🐾🐾 He may be a little shy at first, but once he warms up to you, he's your best friend for life. He's always happy 😃 to see you, whether you've been gone for five minutes or five hours. He loves to play with toys🧸 , go for walks, and cuddle on the couch. Washington can be a bit dominant with other dogs, so he's best suited for a home with either no other dogs or older, calmer dogs. He's good with most dogs once he gets to know them, but he does appreciate having some space to himself sometimes. Washington is also great with older children 👦. He's gentle and playful, and he loves to run around the backyard. He's not a good fit for homes with very young children, as he can be a bit too rambunctious for them. Overall, Washington is a loving, happy dog who would make a great addition to any family. He's smart, trainable, and always up for an adventure. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will make you laugh 😂 every day, Washington is the dog for you! Here are some of Washington's other qualities: * He is housebroken and crate-trained. * He is up-to-date on all of his vaccinations. * He is neutered. * He is microchipped. If you're interested in adopting Washington, please fill out an application. Washington is waiting for his forever home!

Story
Delta is a sweet and loving 3 year old shepherd mix. She enjoys running and romping in the yard as well as loving on her human. She is up for lounging on the sofa or going on an adventure. She needs an active family that can keep her busy. She is shy at first but once she warms up to you she wants to be in your lap. She is food motivated and a fast and eager learner. She is good with children over 10. She can be dog selective, so not every dog is her friend and she is not a fan of cats. She is housebroken and crate trained and walks on leash. She is a happy energetic girl looking for her furever family. She has been with us for a year and was surrendered by her owner because they were moving and didn't want to take her. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped with lifetime monitoring, on flea and hw prevention. If you are interested in giving Delta another chance, send in application.

Meet Lincoln, the Life of the Pawty! This bouncy ball of sunshine is Lincoln, a 2-year-old black Hound mix who's ready to fill your life with endless tail wags and goofy grins. Forget the Energizer Bunny, Lincoln's got him beat – his enthusiasm for life is truly infectious! Lincoln may be all grown up, but his playful spirit never left him behind. He's the king of backyard zoomies, loves a good snuggle session, and greets every day with a tail-thumping "Good morning, world!" Story
Joe is a stunning 8 year old black mouth cur mix that is ready to find his forever family❤️ Sweet Joe has a strong desire to be near his people, always. He’s a cuddle bug and loves being where his family is! He is good at being a companion dog, he plays well with puppies & is a protector of his people! He will bark when strangers come to the door but once he knows they’re cool, he will be their new best friend🐾 This handsome boy can be an adventure pup or a couch potato. He loves to go for hikes and runs, but he is also happy cuddling up on a couch with his humans! He likes other dogs, but prefers pup friends with laid-back personalities so he can be the “big dog in the house,” or he would be okay as an only dog! 🐶 Joe has a strong case of FOMO, so he always wants to know what you are doing and where you are going. He likes to follow his people around the house and get into the things they are getting into. He really just wants to be near his humans & doing whatever they’re doing.❤️ Joe needs an adult-only household, or one with older children. Poor buddy is scared of little kids and deserves a home where he doesn’t have to be separated from little ones, and can roam his home as he pleases. He is kennel trained, but doesn’t need to be kept in one because he isn’t destructive & he is house trained! Joe is a good boy that deserves a soft place to land after his family dynamic has changed. If you have an older, established household, please consider adding Joe to your family!🥰 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Story
Meet Fridge – Your Lovable, Roadside Rescued Best Friend! Fridge isn’t just a name—it’s a whole vibe. This sweet, gentle Pitbull mix was found on the side of the road and has since been on a weight loss journey, proving that second chances (and fewer snacks) can lead to something amazing. Fridge is the neighborhood favorite, winning over kids and adults alike with his calm, friendly demeanor. He’s the perfect mix of laid-back and social, always happy to greet new friends with a wagging tail. In his foster home, he’s been a dream companion, living peacefully with two other dogs and a child. He’s neutral around other dogs, making him an easy addition to a home with existing pets. While Fridge loves a good nap and cuddle session, he’s also discovering his adventurous side! He’s developed a real love for walks and enjoys exploring the outdoors. His foster family says he’s getting more playful every day, even starting to show interest in toys—a big step for this previously overlooked pup. When he’s not out stretching his legs or testing out his growing toy collection, Fridge is a true cuddle bug, always ready for some cozy downtime with his humans. He’s looking for a forever home where he can continue his journey—with love, companionship, and plenty of time for walks and play. Could Fridge be the missing piece in your life? Story
🐾 Meet Bishop – The Wonder Pup🐾 This little sweetheart is Bishop! He’s a young (born March 2024) smaller sized terrier mix that is one of the special ones. Bishop is a neurological puppy, before you stop reading, don’t let that scare you. He lives in a foster home with other dogs, cats, and loves people and most importantly, he’s healthy and happy. Bishop came to us from the priority list at a local shelter. He was emaciated, blind, and had some skin issues but after a little TLC and a vet visit, he’s basically a normal pup! He can see up close, differentiate between shade and sunlight, and recognize large objects, allowing him to follow along. Don’t worry, Bishop gets into the usual puppy mischief—bumps and all! Once he maps out a room or yard, he’s unstoppable and loves a good zoomie or chase. :D His eyes are healthy and the vet thinks his vision could improve as he gets older. Bishop is already learning commands and he’s doing well with house training and leash walking. He’ll need a patient family, preferably one experienced with special needs or willing to work with a trainer, and a home with no or minimal stairs. If this quirky happy boy, might be the one for you, please reach out by completing a form at the link below. We'll forward that to his foster family who will reach out to you directly to answer any questions. ================================================= If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel.
