Luna is a 5 year old Dalmatian/Lab mix She weighs about 50 pounds and is house-trained, crate-trained, and walks well on leash. She has grown up with kids and is gentle with all ages and loves to give kisses. She loves squeaky toys and snuggles and playing in the backyard to keep an eye on the squirrels! She is highly trainable and super eager to please. Luna was born deaf but was taught hand commands from age 5 months. She responds well to visual cues and is eager to learn more. Deaf dogs are just like regular dogs, you simply communicate with them a little differently! If Luna sounds like the perfect addition to your family but you are worried about her being deaf don't be! We will include sessions with our trainer for any interested family to help make the transition super easy! Luna either needs to be an only dog (as being deaf other dogs can startle her) or potentially with a calm male dog. We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Penny is 15yrs old and starting to lose her hearing, sight and potentially experiencing dementia. Her entire life she has been with me. My wife and I welcomed home a daughter last year and with Penny’s growing health concerns and need of room in our apartment—it is getting harder for me to take care of her. I don’t want to see her go but do want her to be happy somewhere she can get the care she deserves. I will always love her and hope someone else can too.

I am a caring, loving, and enjoy all the affection! I walk well on a leash but I am very strong and easily distracted...oh look, squirrel! I am 100% a lover and do well with kids. I am crate trained and house trained and enjoy all things snuggly! My previous owner use to take me on runs and adventures. I enjoy getting out and seeing the world! I do not like cats but I do enjoy the company of other dogs. If you have another dog in the home, a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure we get along! My adoption fee is $125. I am spayed and current on my basic boosters. I will be brought up to date on my rabies vaccination, microchip, and heartworm test on Wednesday, December 18th.
