Story
Luna is a 5 year old Dalmatian/Lab mix She weighs about 50 pounds and is house-trained, crate-trained, and walks well on leash. She has grown up with kids and is gentle with all ages and loves to give kisses. She loves squeaky toys and snuggles and playing in the backyard to keep an eye on the squirrels! She is highly trainable and super eager to please. Luna was born deaf but was taught hand commands from age 5 months. She responds well to visual cues and is eager to learn more. Deaf dogs are just like regular dogs, you simply communicate with them a little differently! If Luna sounds like the perfect addition to your family but you are worried about her being deaf don't be! We will include sessions with our trainer for any interested family to help make the transition super easy! Luna either needs to be an only dog (as being deaf other dogs can startle her) or potentially with a calm male dog. We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Story
Meet Skyler! This beautiful 3-year-old, 55 lb dog is looking for a new home where she can be the star. Skyler’s owners are rehoming her as she's recently started playing a little too rough with the cat and smaller dogs. She would do best as the only pet or with a dog her size or larger. Skyler is playful, sweet, and would make a wonderful companion for someone ready for her energetic and loving personality. She’s up to date on shots, spayed, and housetrained. If you’re interested in giving Skyler a forever home, please fill out an application. codysfriendsrescue.org  Foster or adopt. Lexie is one of the girls in the L litter who are all teenagers now. She is as cute as a button and the one that bears the closest resemblance to a Dalmatian though not nearly as big. Story
Heshey is a gorgeous chocolate and tan girl. She was a great Mom to her nine babies who came to us with her, and is now ready to be in a furever home where she will be loved and pampered a little. Hershey is friendly and outgoing, both with people and dogs and will be a wonderful companion. She walks wonderfully on a leash, never pulls, and takes cues from the hooman walking her. Please come and meet her. She is sure to steal your heart! Story
Why did Baylor and his buddy Beans cross the deserted country road? Well, to be rescued by a Good Samaritan of course who happened to be driving by. And what a great duo these two are! Baylor will definitely be a medium to large sized who is as tall as a puppy as Beans is as an adult dog, whereas Beans is a grown, compact and sturdy body type. We think he could be part Kelpie, but are just guessing really. What we know is that he is a very cute and very loving dog who apparently has been watching over Baylor with great care. Beans is missing a little section of his right ear though we do not know how that came about. Maybe fighting off a predator to protect Baylor while they were on their own? We are just in love with him. He must have been through quite a bit, yet was cautiously trusting as we rid him of all the fleas and dirt he was covered with and was very thankful in the end. What a guy! And what a lucky adopter who will welcome him to a much better life than what he has had! Our Furry Friendz are available for adoption through a screening process which includes but is not limited to: a completed application, 3 referrals, a home visit, and a vet referral prior to their furever home placement. The dogs are Spayed/Neutered, micro chipped, current on all vaccines and on heart worm/flea preventive. Story
Penny is 15yrs old and starting to lose her hearing, sight and potentially experiencing dementia. Her entire life she has been with me. My wife and I welcomed home a daughter last year and with Penny’s growing health concerns and need of room in our apartment—it is getting harder for me to take care of her. I don’t want to see her go but do want her to be happy somewhere she can get the care she deserves. I will always love her and hope someone else can too.
