Story
Covered in Spots, Full of Heart — That’s Glimmer! Can you spot this loving pup? Glimmer’s name fits her perfectly — she’s a gentle light who shines a little brighter every day. After facing some tough times, she’s ready to leave the past behind and glow in the warmth of a real home. Glimmer originally came to APA as a maternity case, but her story took an unexpected turn when she needed emergency surgery to save her life. True to her name, she never lost her spark. With great medical care and a lot of heart, Glimmer bounced back quickly — now she’s healthy, happy, and eager for her next chapter. She’s truly one of the sweetest dogs around. Glimmer greets almost everyone with soft eyes and a slow, polite nuzzle, as if to say, “I’m so glad you’re here.” Though she’s still a little cautious in the busy shelter environment (understandable after all she’s been through), her gentle spirit shines through. You can tell she’s ready to bloom in a calm home where she feels safe and loved. Glimmer is a joy on walks — no pulling, just easy strolls and a curious nose leading the way. She enjoys being outside, soaking up the sunshine, and staying close to her person. She’s the kind of companion who makes you slow down and appreciate the little things — a wagging tail, a trusting glance, the soft glow of her spotted coat in the light. All Glimmer needs now is a quiet home, a bit of medication as she finishes healing, and someone to see the beautiful dog she already is. Could that someone be you? Give this shining girl a Glimmer of hope — and she’ll fill your life with warmth, gratitude, and love that never fades.

Story
Cooper is a 4-year-old Kelpie mix with a gentle, thoughtful spirit who just needed time to feel safe. When he first arrived in his foster home, it was clear he hadn’t had much (if any) socialization with people or everyday life inside a home. Regular household sounds, movement, even the TV were overwhelming. His crate became his safe place, and he would choose to go there often just to feel secure. With patience and consistency, Cooper has slowly blossomed. Now he spends most of his day resting calmly on the couch or laying in the kitchen while meals are being made. He used to be nervous in the car, but now he gets excited to go for rides. He didn’t understand treats at first, but now he joyfully pops up on his hind legs to ask for one. Cooper does very well with dogs of all sizes and is respectful of cats. He is crate trained and doing well with potty training—he hasn’t had an accident in the house in about a week. Though he is around 4 years old, he still has a bit of youthful playfulness in him. He loves belly rubs, gentle massages, chewing on toys, and watching the world go by from the cat perch. On walks, he is calm, rarely pulls, and often looks back to “check in” with his person—he truly wants to do things right. Because unpredictable movement can still make him nervous, Cooper would do best in a calm home without young children. He needs someone who can offer patience, steadiness, and understanding. Cooper has already come so far. With a loving, reassuring person by his side, he will continue to open up and become the loyal, tender, devoted companion he is meant to be. To apply directly for Cooper click the "Apply for Adoption" button. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-762 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. Introducing Stella! A sweet, senior girly looking for her forever home. Stella is an expert in commands. She knows: Sit, Down, Come, Place, Free/Break, Shake and Spin! This girl is full of tricks and highly food motivated. Stella is the type of girl to want her people alllll to herself, so a home without other dogs or children is needed for her to thrive. Once she's got her daily walking fix, Stella will lounge around with whoever she feels is the coziest and best cuddler. Can you be the one to live out a life full of love and adventure with Stella?

Just look at those bright button eyes! Moonlight has a cheerful and alert demeanor. Although technically a senior he appears younger than his years. He loves his toys! Moonlight also enjoys a rousing game of fetch, is good on leash and appears to be house-trained. We think Moonlight may have some Kelpie in him, a breed known for being friendly, loyal, and eager to connect with their people. He’s already showing those wonderful traits, greeting each day with a wagging tail and a sweet, steady charm. If Moonlight has caught your eye, we’d love for you to meet him. To set up a no-obligation “meet and greet,” please visit wimberleywagrescue.org to fill out an application. He may be just the companion you’ve been looking for.

Story
Meet Otis! This sweet, high-energy 40-pound pup is ready to find his furever family! At just 1 1/2-2 years old, Otis is full of life, love, and adventure. He’s a social butterfly who never meets a stranger-whether human or canine-and he’s always looking for hugs, playmates, and new experiences. A recent DNA test shows this handsome boy is a dalmatian mix! Otis is eager to please and is doing great with basic obedience training. He’s house-trained, crate trained, learning house manners, and loves loading up for a car ride-ready for his next big adventure! His perfect home would have another playful dog (his size or larger) and a big yard where he can romp and run. Because of his boisterous energy, we recommend a home with school-aged children or older. Otis is super affectionate, athletic, and thriving with consistent structure. Continued training will help him build even more confidence as he matures into the best companion. Otis is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, up-to-date on vaccines, and current on heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. We believe he is a pointer mix. Ready to meet your new best friend? Handsome Otis can’t wait to meet you! Just copy this link into your browser and submit your adoption form today: https://form.jotform.com/201527297286058

Story
Sitter needed: 12/21/25 - 12/28/25 Meet Bananas Foster—a bright, affectionate, and spirited little pup who is ready to find his forever home. He has been an absolute pleasure in foster care, and everyone is hoping he’ll be welcomed into a loving family just in time for the holidays.💛 Bananas is potty trained and understands the routine once he’s shown which door to wait by. He’s currently learning his basic commands and, being very treat motivated, is eager to keep improving. This sweet boy loves playtime, especially a good ball-throwing session. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and currently lives with an energetic 5-year-old Golden Retriever. Despite his small size (21 lbs to her 65 lbs), he keeps up perfectly—sharing toys, enjoying playful wrestling, taking naps together, and exchanging endless puppy kisses. Their adorable dynamic could easily be a YouTube sensation. Bananas is also gentle and loving with children and enjoys cuddles, pets, and cozy nap time with his human friends. He’s a Velcro pup who forms strong bonds and loves staying close, but he’s equally excited for new adventures and outings. Playful, cuddly, smart, and resilient, Bananas Foster is ready to bring joy, laughter, and big love to the lucky family who chooses him.

Xylo: Snack Connoisseur, Nap Enthusiast, Full-Time Heart-Stealer Meet Xylo, the 8-year-old senior with a PhD in Snuggology and a minor in Treatonomics. He has been patiently waiting for a home with a heart that is overflowing with the kind of love that will make every day feel brighter. He's a loyal, thoughtful, gentleman who wants nothing more than to share his days with someone who will love him in return. Xylo takes his time to trust, but once he does, he becomes a devoted companion who will sit beside you, curl up in your lap, and let you know—wordlessly—just how much he loves being with you. He’s a whiz at basic obedience and loves learning new tricks in exchange for treats! He enjoys the simple things: soft sunbeams, leisurely walks on the scenic route to sniff, rolling around in the dirt, and a cozy bed in a safe corner of your home. Xylo also loves stuffed toys, gentle play, and giving kisses. He gets along well with dogs and cats and thrives on friendship, comfort, and snuggles. If your life needs a snack-motivated, goofy, loveable companion with a flair for dramatic napping, Xylo is your guy.
