Story
Hi, I'm Raven! I was found as a stray in Easton, and no one came to claim me, but that's okay—I know there’s a perfect family out there for me. I’m a sweet girl who loves every person I meet, though I can be a little shy at first. Once I get comfortable, I’m all about love and attention! I’m working on my leash manners, but other than that, I have pretty good manners. Since I can be a bit shy, I think I'd do best in a household without little toddlers, as loud or sudden movements can make me nervous. The staff here is helping me with socializing with other dogs, and so far, they think I might do best as the only dog in the home. They’re going to test me with a few different personalities, so we’ll see! I absolutely love being active—I’m all about running around and getting the zoomies! I’m a fun girl who loves to get out and stretch my legs. While I haven’t played with toys much here yet, I’m still figuring out how fun they can be, and I’d love to see what adventures await me with you! If you’re looking for a loving, active companion who just needs a little time to adjust, I might be the one for you. Let’s start a new chapter together! Story
Meet Kiara! Kiara is about a year old. She is a terrier mix (her mom is actually a dalmatian!) She is the most beautiful girl! Kiara has had a rough start to life having lived outside with others in not so great conditions. Fortunately, this has had no negative effects on this sweet babe. Kiara is eager to please and very laid back. She is truly just happy to have a warm, cozy bed & food all to herself. She does enjoy toys as she probably never had them before and that is new and exciting to her! She loves to just be next to you and have her head on you. She is just a quiet girl wanting a simple life! Kiara is great with kids. She is good with other laid back dogs but likes to just do her own thing. She is very timid with men and takes longer to warm up to them. She is learning in her foster home that not all men are scary and she doesn't have to be afraid any more. Kiara is crate trained and doing well with learning potty and going out when the other dogs go out. She is fixed, up to date on shots and microchipped. Adoption fee $400. This perfect girl just wants a warm and cozy home to call her own!

Phillip and is brother are the last of their litter and looking for homes. These 2 puppies didn’t have the best of life for the first 7 weeks of life. The whole litter came to us loaded with worms, the worms were being passed in piles from both ends. 🤮 They are now thriving thanks to their foster mom. The puppies are now about 12 wks old. Mom was a Dalmatian\Terrier mix and dad is said to be a husky mix. Their grandmother is a purebred Dalmatian as we have met them. Adoption fee $500 Brindle Buddies Reading Pa 19605 14185

Story
Meet Tulsa! Tulsa is a spirited 1-year-old, 40-lb Kelpie mix searching for her forever home. This energetic and sweet girl is settling beautifully into her new foster home, where she's growing more relaxed indoors after some active morning playtime. Tulsa thrives on physical activity and would love an active home that can match her zest for life. She makes an excellent running partner and enjoys fetch-squeaky balls being her favorite! Tulsa adores other dogs, especially those her size or bigger. She's great with adults, kids, and has shown impressive adaptability in bustling NYC, remaining unbothered by city sounds. Fully housebroken, crate-trained, and highly food-motivated, Tulsa is a quick learner who responds well to treat-based training. If you're searching for a friendly, adventurous pup to be by your side, Tulsa might just be the perfect match! Tulsa is being fostered in Long Island City, NY. Her adoption fee is $500. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Dottie Dottie is 52 lbs of pure love! We think she is a Pointer mix, and at little more than 7 months (her DOB was 10-25-23) she is already a large dog. Despite her young age, she is crate-trained, housebroken, and knows some basic commands (sit, off, leave it, let's go, off, go to bed). Dottie was one of a litter of six puppies born to a stray in MIssissippi. She's currently being fostered in Collingswood, NJ, which is where meet & greets will take place prior to adoption. Dottie is very affectionate, absolutely loves to be petted, and still thinks she is a lap-sized puppy! She's very smart, curious, and playful. When she's not rough-housing with other dogs at her foster home, she is learning manners and impulse control. Like most puppies, she still benefits from a nap during the day, needs frequent potty breaks, is getting used to loose-leash walking, and is learning to love car rides, too.  Her perfect family will have time to spend playing with, and to continue socializing and training Dottie. A fur-sib or two, and/or human children would be nice but not essential. As long as she gets plenty of daily exercise and attention, she will be a very happy dog. Due to her size, a securely fenced yard is required. Continued use of a crate is highly recommended! Exercise and activity needs: Moderate Shedding amount: Moderate Grooming needs: Low; occasional bath and nail trim Reaction to new people: Friendly, curious Good with dogs Good with cats Good with people; MUST supervise with young children   Please email us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com for more info or an application. (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) NOTE: Most puppies do best in the company of an older dog who can teach them "doggy manners," so homes with at least one other dog usually will be given preference in puppy adoptions. Please read Suzanne Clothier's wonderful article, "It Takes a Pack to Raise a Puppy!" PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit banshockcollars.ca/studies.php . We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us atAlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com. To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. For Meet & Greet times and locations, visit our home page, where you also will find information on our adoption process and fees. FOSTER FAMILIES ARE LIFESAVERS!! Can you open your heart and home for a few weeks to homeless shelter dog? Remember, by fostering a dog, you save TWO lives — that of your foster dog, and that of the dog who takes his place in the shelter! Come to a Meet & Greet and find out if fostering is for you — there's no reward quite like the feeling that you've saved a life ... or two!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 10:19 pm
