Story
Meet Tulsa! Tulsa is a spirited 1-year-old, 40-lb Kelpie mix searching for her forever home. This energetic and sweet girl is settling beautifully into her new foster home, where she's growing more relaxed indoors after some active morning playtime. Tulsa thrives on physical activity and would love an active home that can match her zest for life. She makes an excellent running partner and enjoys fetch-squeaky balls being her favorite! Tulsa adores other dogs, especially those her size or bigger. She's great with adults, kids, and has shown impressive adaptability in bustling NYC, remaining unbothered by city sounds. Fully housebroken, crate-trained, and highly food-motivated, Tulsa is a quick learner who responds well to treat-based training. If you're searching for a friendly, adventurous pup to be by your side, Tulsa might just be the perfect match! Tulsa is being fostered in Long Island City, NY. Her adoption fee is $500. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Delilah (GA) is a female Dalmation mix estimated to be 8 months old at the time of intake in December 2024. Delilah is up to date on core vaccinations (age-appropriate) and is microchipped. She will be spayed prior to joining her forever home unless there is a medical reason why it has not yet been completed (in which RDR NYC will work with the adopter to ensure this is done at the appropriate time). Delilah is good with people and other dogs. This beautiful spotted girl was brought into a shelter after having been hit by a car during which her ear was completely ripped off. We rescued Delilah and she has already had surgery to address the damage to her ear. We washed off the tire tracks that marked her body and soothed the road rash on her legs and paws. Deliliah is underweight and our veterinary partner will treat that as well. Delilah is a sweet, low key, soft-spoken pup who wears her heart over her right eye! Delilah needs a soft, happy place to land for the rest of her life. If you can give Delilah that fantastic home she deserves, please apply online to adopt Delilah (GA) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org. Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 17, 2024, 5:56 am

Story
Update: Benny was adopted last year unfortunately his adopter is very ill and returned benny into our care to find his forever family. Benny is still with his current family as a foster.   Benny previous home says : Benny just wants to play, mostly with other dogs. He’s a sweet adolescent, to date, un-neutered male who appears to be a leader (or Alfa) within  his peer group. He’s not at all aggressive with other dogs, people, or children. He’s quite fond of everyone and everything, including cats and deer. He has lots of energy, but is also very calm and seemingly content alone. He’s both house and crate trained, and although he knows his name and several commands, including “come, sit, stay, stop, paw, lay down, stop, drop it, leave it”, he is not yet capable of walking off leash. He’s current with all his shots and has a one year check up with the vet in June. Attached are videos of him having both wet and dry food, tonight.the        Benny loves toys, he always enjoys carrying around his stuff toys. at first we couldnt tell them apart until we noticed how benny carries his toys. all of his brothers and himself are verly sweet mellow boys we are still learning bennys personailty but we are sure he will be a great companion for any family. ##1800647##
