Story
Maggie!? How come a gorgeous girl like you haven't gotten adopted yet? Well - the fact that Maggie is a gorgeous (non-pitbull) dog is part of the problem! Adopters applying for Maggie wants a pretty, fun and easy big dog. But Maggie is infact a full-sized Chihuahua. There is nothing wrong with this sweetheart - she LOVES other dogs, is completely potty trained, healthy, active and fun. Maggie just doesn't want to be touched until you've known each other for QUITE a while. And even then, a snarl might come out of nowhere. She is happy and content at the shelter, but will easily adapt to your household of active dogs and hands-off owners. Been around a grumpy cat before? Chihuahuas? Pekingese? Why do we as a society understand that small dogs can be delicate to handle, yet we require big dogs to allow all handling all the time? Maggie is special, but not overwhelming. She is extremely rewarding to interact with, although touch is not her love language! Included in the adoption fee of $275 is up to date vet care, microchip, vaccines, dewormer. She is spayed and ready for meet and greets! Apply to foster-to-adopt Maggie, we will be there for you the whole way: rebeldogsdetroit.com/applytoadopt

Story
Meet Smokey - a puppy from our Campfire Litter! These “campfire babies” are a warm, bright, and beautiful bunch, each ready to bring some sparkle into your life! With their sweet personalities and growing skills, they’re all set to light up a loving home. Whether you're seeking a playful adventurer or a calm cuddle bug, the Campfire Litter has the perfect spark for you. Smokey is the quiet ember of the group. He is laid-back and eager to please. This gentle soul radiates a calm, steady warmth, making him the perfect companion for anyone who enjoys a peaceful, yet affectionate pup. He is happiest in the cozy glow of relaxed company, content to sit quietly by your side, enjoying moments of peace. He’s got a sweet, soothing presence that will bring quiet magic to your home. He is progressing beautifully in his training. He is getting the hang of potty and crate training, and he has learned key commands like “let’s go,” “crate,” and “no.” Smokey is also socialized with other dogs at their foster home, which is helping him learn to balance playful energy with independence. Due to his age, we believe Smokey will do well with kids, dogs, and cats. When it’s time to rest, he will happily head into his crate for meals, naps, and a bit of quiet time. Smokey's ideal home would be one that’s ready to embrace his playful puppy energy and his sweet, cuddly sides. Whether you’re looking for a low-key snuggler or an energetic adventurer, one of the campfire babies will be the perfect match for you! Applicants MUST HAVE AN ADULT DOG in the home! When applying, you are applying to meet ALL puppies in the litter, not just one specific puppy. Your adult dog will accompany you during the meet and greet, and will help select the best match based on who gravitates toward you and your dog. Adoptions are based on connection and chemistry. Adoption is $325 and includes spay/neuter at our vet when age appropriate, vaccines to date of adoption, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health.
