Anna came to us from an overcrowded shelter in Alabama. The shelter is a scary place for a young pup, fortunately Anna has landed a nice foster home while she searches for her forever home. Anna is your typical young pup. She is friendly and outgoing. Playtime is her favorite time, and she loves making human and canine friends alike. At her young age, Anna is in her prime for training and socialization too. Anna is looking for an active home where she can share all her love, butt wiggles and wet nose kisses for many years to come. Submit an application today and change this sweet girl's life forever!  Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.           Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/  or email our Foster Coordinator at  foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me!    Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/  . Story
Mr. Clarence is only accepting applications from people with a good sense of humor. His antics require it. If dogs went to school, he would be the class clown. He lives life in full force, zooming and romping with his foster siblings before he crashes as his foster parents side. Oh yeah, he requires someone who adores cuddles too! If you are looking for truly affectionate pup who is going to rock obedience training, Clarence is your guy. After Clarence's foster family returns from being gone for a bit, Clarence will not go outside to potty until he has been properly picked up and cuddled. The same rule applies if he has accidently fallen asleep while the foster family left the room. Upon waking, cuddles are required. We are not exactly sure what Clarence's genetic make up is. We believe he will be a medium sized pup at around 30 - 50 pounds. We can guarantee that he will have you laughing for a lifetime. Clarence was the last in the shelter from a litter of 4. All of his siblings were scooped up and he sat alone for over 2 weeks. Freckles Foundation could not let him sit in a cold kennel alone. He is now safe and warm in a foster home and cannot wait to meet his forever people! He has been with us since December and we truly are shocked! The adoption fee for this dog is $425. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs....all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! Puppies require an adopter who is home a good part of the day to continue their training! They are up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and preventatives. If you are viewing on Petfinder and cannot see photos or would like to apply for this dog please visit our website, www.frecklesfoundation.org. Freckles Foundation & Animal Rescue cannot guarantee the exact age or breed of any animal in our care. The age and breed listed are based on information we may have been provided, and the appearance of the animal.

Story
I got Pongo from a friend who told me his owner could no longer keep him. He's had many different homes in his first months of life. Pongo turns one on November 13th. Dalmatians thrive when they're properly exercised, or they can become destructive. So, I'm looking for someone who can fully dedicate their time to training, exercising, and giving him all the enrichment he needs every day. Ideally, the home would have a backyard or be spacious enough for him to free roam without feeling constrained. The new owner should be prepared to provide constant reassurance due to his separation anxiety. I would not recommend Pongo to a first-time dog owner (like myself) as he needs someone who knows what they're doing or it can be overwhelming. Pongo is a ball of energy who loves to run, play, and sniff the outdoors. He also loves to cuddle and give many kisses.
