Story
Oreo is a 5 year old male. We got him as a 3 month old puppy from someone on Facebook. Oreo needs a home with someone who can give him the attention he needs, he’s not a fan of young kids (toddler, babies). We would prefer that he goes to a home with older kids or no kids, he has never been around cats so we don’t know how he would act. He needs someone who can give him the attention he needs and deserves.

Story
Meet Gotham Gotham is a 7-year-old male Dalmatian (microchipped but needing neuter and vaccinations, which we'll get done for him soon!) His $155 adoption fee includes those services and other care received. Gotham came into the shelter with Bandit, a 10-year-old female husky. (She is already spayed and microchipped and will be getting updated vaccinations soon.) FOSTER/foster-to-adopt/adoption NEEDED for both! Our shelter is full and we can't take in any additional dogs, and our regular foster homes are full, too. We'd love to see Gotham in a home with someone familiar with the breed who would help us continue getting him to a healthy weight so he can live a long happy lifetime. Both of these dogs truly enjoy playing in the giant yard, and just enjoy life as it comes. They are KID AND CAT FRIENDLY, which makes them an even bigger catch! Call 913-335-0788 for an appointment or more information. The Fort Leavenworth Stray Facility is open 11-4 MWF, but we recommend calling to make sure someone is there before visiting, especially if coming from off post. Email fortleavenworthstrayfacility@gmail.com for an adoption application.

You say you love me, and it's inviting to go where life is more exciting ❤️ But I was raised on country sunshine ☀️ I was raised on country sunshine, green grass beneath my feet 🌱 Running through the fields of daisies, wading through the creek 🌼 You love me, and it's inviting to go where life is more exciting 🥳 But I was raised on country sunshine☀️ I was raised on country sunshine, I'm happy with the simple things 🚜 A Saturday night walk, a picture show, and the joy that a comfy couch brings 🛋️ I love you, please believe me, I won't want you to ever leave me ❤️💕🥰 Howdy, partner! I’m Dottie West, a 2-year-old Pointer weighing in at about 55 lbs, and I’m the sweetest little lady on this side of the Mississippi! I really was raised on country sunshine; I was found in the countryside of rural Kansas. I spent a few weeks at the local vet clinic, and nobody came forward to claim me. You can thank my previous family, because their loss is your HUGE gain. If you’re needing a noble steed that is quiet, sweet, lovable, cuddly, mellow, and loves attention, I am the gal for you! I LOVE my people so much, and I value our time spent together more than anything! Don’t worry, I can be independent too. I get along great with other dogs and love to play! I haven’t been around cats or kids, though I can’t imagine I would have any issues. I am fine on the leash, but there is always a little room for improvement. I am house-trained, know basic commands, and am crate-trained. I promise you’re going to love me! I will come to you spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. I will also be current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. My adoption fee is $175. I believe home is where the herd is, so go ahead and make me part of your herd! Stampede on over to PawsitiveTailsKC.org and fill out an app to meet me! YEEHAW! 🤠 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤

Story
🌟 Meet Me — I’m Star! 🌟 Hi there! My name is Star — like a shooting star! That’s because the night I crawled up a kind family’s driveway in rural Missouri looking for help, they looked up and saw one streak across the sky. They said it was fate — and that’s how I got my name. ✨ I’m a 4–5-year-old, 43-pound bundle of sweetness, fun, and snuggles. I live with my foster family right now, along with some other dogs who have become my best friends. I love to play, share toys (okay, I really love whatever toy another dog has), lounge on my favorite spot — the sofa, and explore the yard. If you have another playful pup, that’s perfect! I’d thrive with a buddy who enjoys having fun as much as I do. I’m a very good girl! I don’t shed, I am crate trained, and learning my leash manners. I get super excited for walks — they’re my favorite part of the day! Once I settle in, I walk pretty nicely and love exploring the world with you. A fenced yard and daily walks would help me stay happy and balanced. I am also very chatty! I’ve got lots to say, being a beagle mix, so an apartment might not be the best place for me. I know how to sit (especially for treats!) and come when you call “Star, come on!” I’m smart, curious, and sometimes a bit stubborn — I like to think for myself. 😉 But I catch on quickly and really want to please. I’m great with other dogs and older kids, though I might accidentally bump into smaller ones because I don’t always realize how big I am. I’m never mean or aggressive — I just really like snacks, and sometimes I think your food should be our food. At night, I sleep in my cozy bed near my foster mom and foster sisters, and I feel safe knowing they are close by. I’ve been through some tough times before, but I’m learning every day that people can be kind and that I can trust them. My foster family says I have the biggest heart — that I’m affectionate, goofy, and loving despite everything I’ve been through. Star's adoption fee is $175. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and current on preventatives for heartworm/flea/tick. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤 If you’re looking for a loyal friend who will fill your home with warmth, laughter, and love, look up — your Star might just have found you. 💫
