Story
Meet Arlo! Age: Senior Breed: Dixie Weight: 15 pounds Good with: Dogs, Cats, Kids House Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Hasn’t needed one Arlo is a social, senior Dachshund. He is dog, cat and kid friendly and looking to be a cherished member of the family. He is a total snuggle bug who enjoys cuddling up with his foster family and is looking for a home that wants a lap dog. Age is just a number to Arlo, who is in great health and even a bit acrobatic! Arlo is outgoing and curious. He does well in the car and would love to join you on adventures where he can be friendly with people and pups. Arlo does well on a leash and potties outside. Afterwards he’s ready to burrow back into a heated blanket to get cozy! Arlo has so much love and so many cuddles to give and is so deserving of a fantastic home, could it be yours? Story
Check out our Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for more pictures & videos of our adoptable dogs! Updated: 11/4/24 Dog Name: Eric Sex: Male Estimated Breed Mix: Dachshund Approximate Age: 1-2 years Approximate Weight: 10-15 lbs Adoption Fee: $450 Description: Eric is a sweet little guy who loves to be pet and loved on. He came into an overcrowded small rural shelter. When he arrived in WI he was scared and got away from us, but after 2 days we were able to catch him again! When he was caught he spent 40 minutes with a volunteer and was already getting bonded to her and wanted to follow her into whatever room she entered.  He met some new doggo friends right away and was so good with them! They played for a bit and then Eric's nerves subsided and he's been eating a lot and sleeping hard in a cozy bed ever since. He was a little skiddish when there was a loud noise. After he learns that the human he is with is kind he's confident/comfortable when them and wants to be near them. He's kennel trained, mostly potty trained, and is learning basic commands. This little guy loves to play with other dogs, go for walks, but he ESPECIALLY loves to snuggle with his human. He's such a cuddle bug with his foster mom and is her littler shadow as she walks around the house. Now that he's comfortable in his foster home, there's no way he'd run again. He actually escaped a gap in the fence to be closer to his foster, not looking to be an escape artist. We think he's learned to love living in his new WI home. Could he come live in yours permanently?   We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433   ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs by 6 months of age. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months of age, they will need to be spayed/neutered by your veterinarian when they are 6 months to 1 year or age. Proof that the spay/neuter has been completed will need to be submitted to Tailwaggers911. Once proof of the spay/neuter has been received, we will refund $100 of your adoption fee via Venmo, PayPal or have a check in the mail within 15 days.  at one of our preferred clinics. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as ADOPTION IN PROCESS, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out. November 11, 2024, 11:13 pm

Story
Libby is a dachshund mix and is estimated to be just over 2 years old. She is a super sweet, loyal and initially shy girl who loves her humans and would be a great companion for somebody who likes to snuggle during naps as much as she does. Once she warms up to other dogs, she is a fan of hanging out and playing with them, but cats are unknown. She is house trained on a schedule but not a fan of being left alone. When she is left alone she likes to sing a song of great sadness which is not suitable for apartment living. She did not make the cut for American Idol this fall which lucky for you means she is available for adoption to be your lap dog. Libby also isn't a fan of children under the age of 5 with their quick movements, so a home with older or no children is recommended. Rey of Hope Rescue is a locally based dog & cat rescue in Milwaukee serving all of SE Wisconsin. We are passionate about helping you find the best pet match for your home. WI License # DS-536355

Story
Ryder is a sweet boy that we rescued about two years ago. He is perfect with people who give him his space until he trusts them. The issue is that he is very aggressive toward strainers and people that try to approach him other than our household members and a hand full of others. He will bite if he feels threatened, he has become a liability for our family due to the fact that in two years of training he still occasionally becomes aggressive out of the blue and will bite people. He is small so bites have caused minimal damage but we have children and their friends and our friends are have been bitten in some rare instances. He really is sweet and needs a companion to devote a lot of time. He is very attached to me but does not like any other men. He could be a great companion for an individual that lives alone and has a lot of time for snuggling and playing.
