Story
Meet Mickey Mickey is a handsome boy with a unique and loving personality that has grown immensely. This sweet, laid-back boy loves small dogs but prefers not to share his home with larger dogs. He needs some time to warm up to people, so patience is key. Once he feels comfortable, he considers everyone his friend and will seek attention from each person. Mickey would thrive in an adult-only household with a fantastic yard where he can run around and play. He is currently being fostered in Virginia Beach, VA, and is eagerly looking for his forever family. If you have a loving home and a great yard, Mickey could be the perfect addition to your family. Story
This little pretty chocolate dappled girl is called Mazie and goodness what a cracker jack she is.  Don’t for minute let those green eyes and chocolate marbled coat fool you to think she is gentle or easy.  She is the CEO of dogs and will run the show at your house if given the chance.  Mazie is 20 pounds and 9 months old.  She is a breed mix of Dachshund and Basset Hound we are told.  Her pics make her look big but she is a “tiny but mighty” little girl.  Mazie is not a fan of any other female dogs in her life or around her.  We don’t know where that came from but the dislike is there so we say…don’t ignore the warning.  She is great with big male dogs, not good with other small dogs or cats, but loves people deeply and wants to be around them.  She needs a fenced yard because she is a runner as most Dachshunds can be and she needs to be able to run and play and get her energy out daily.  Older children would be better for her and she is crate trained, 90% housebroken and she adores going for walks; a very good girl on a leash we can say.  She is beautiful but a “tad” bit complicated, which is why we have outlined the Likes and Dislikes of this girl to a TEE!  We want the right and perfect home and there are lots out there that can give her that.  Tiny but Mighty little Mazie is ready for a home NOW!  Please email us at Critter Cavalry Rescue : ccrnewengland@gmail.com  Tell us where you live when you email asking for information and an application. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.July 3, 2024, 11:01 pm

This adorable little girl is having a much better go at life after being pulled from the shelter and getting to her loving foster family. Twinkles had a setback when coming into our rescue and had to have her eye removed due to an old injury prior to coming to us. Since having her eye removed she has really started to let her true pain-free personality shine through. Even with one eye, she is still the most adorable little girl. She does well with other dogs and cats in her foster home. She is kind of the queen and likes to rest near her foster parents. She isn’t much for cuddles but she does want to be wherever you are. She will bark happily to tell you how excited she is to see you when you arrive home daily!   Twinkles is working on potty training, and while her foster mom is working really hard with her, she isn’t there yet. She will need a strict potty schedule and to be let out often to prevent accidents inside. She loves to play with her foster siblings and enjoys sunning herself in the Florida sunshine. I mean, who doesn’t! Twinkles will make an amazing companion for someone willing to give her all the love and attention she desires. Twinkles is roughly 4.5 yrs old and being fostered in Myakka, FL. Her adoption fee is $400. June 26, 2024, 9:19 pm

Story
Meet Mrs Maggie !! Its hard to match the love of a senior dog. Please consider opening your home to this sweet baby. She is so deserving of a loving home to finish out her life. We took her in along with 3 others (also available) from a family that has loved them their entire lives. Sadly the owners had to make the heartbreaking decision to rehome due to their own personal health. These dogs have been well cared for and loved their entire lives. They are looking for new families to share that love with. longhaired Dachsund. Up to date on vaccines, spayed and microchipped. With a recent heartworm test that was negative. She does fine on car rides. Very friendly with people. crate trained and has done very well with potty training when let out often. Has done well with sharing food, treats and toys. She came to us a bit matted. The foster has been working on getting her coat back into good condition and shaving/cutting mats away in areas. She is older and slower but gets around fairly well. Mrs. Maggie- 15 year old female- 12.5 pounds 🔷Mrs. Maggie- Extremely sweet. Mostly blind. Good with kids but better with older ones due to vision issues. Good with other dogs but doesn’t need another dog around. She prefers a calmer and low energy environment. Hyper kids and dogs may overwhelm her. Has not met any cats but we suspect she would do fine with them. Low energy level. She is a super sweet girl. She would benefit from a dental cleaning. Can’t see well enough for leash walks. Mostly just wants a nice dog bed to lounge in all day. Does need you to take her out to potty often as she can’t find her own way to the door. She came to us with an embedded toenail in her foot. That has been treated and is healing. She was so good about her nail trim and the vet fixing her foot issue. Despite being older and having a few age related health concerns she is a sweet and easy companion. Very loyal and loving and just want a safe place to share love with you. Fairly low maintenance. Being happy just to have a soft dog bed to relax in all day. Please consider giving her a great home for the rest of her years. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (She will need to be adopted within a 2 hour drive radius) ‼️Please message the VillageDogResource@gmail.com directly with questions or to get an application.‼️

She is very sweet and loving. She can be shy at times but is really starting to come out of her shell in her foster home. Despite her age she loves to trot around the yard and in the house exploring. She doesnt really come when you call her but is easy to scoop up. She does have luxating patella and dental concerns due to her age however she has a level 4/5 out of 6 heart murmur. Surgery would not be recommended for her unless it was crucial. Currently she gets around great and does well in the home. She is doing well with leash training. Story
Pickle is almost 2 yrs old. First off, Pickle is such a good dog. This is so hard but I’ll admit that Pickle deserves so much more than I can give her. Im a single military dad and I have found it super difficult to make sure Pickle gets the love and attention she needs. With my hectic schedule and my teens gone more then they are at home, Pickle spends too much time alone. One thing that you will notice right away with Pickle is she is a sweetheart. She literally warms up to anyone to include kids. She loves to play fetch and loves to go on walks. As you will notice in the pictures she also likes to snuggle and makes a great lapdog.
