Story
This little pretty chocolate dappled girl is called Maizie and goodness what a cracker jack she is.  Don’t for minute let those green eyes and chocolate marbled coat fool you to think she is gentle or easy.  She is the CEO of dogs and will run the show at your house if given the chance.  Maizie is 30 pounds and 9 months old.  She is a breed mix of Dachshund and Basset Hound we are told.  Her pics make her look big but she is a “tiny but mighty” little girl.  Mazie is not a fan of any other female dogs in her life or around her.  We don’t know where that came from but the dislike is there so we say…don’t ignore the warning.  She is great with big male dogs, not good with other small dogs or cats, but loves people deeply and wants to be around them.  She needs a fenced yard because she is a runner as most Dachshunds can be and she needs to be able to run and play and get her energy out daily.  Older children would be better for her and she is crate trained, 90% housebroken and she adores going for walks; a very good girl on a leash we can say.  She is beautiful but a “tad” bit complicated, which is why we have outlined the Likes and Dislikes of this girl to a TEE!  We want the right and perfect home and there are lots out there that can give her that.  Tiny but Mighty little Maizie is ready for a home NOW!  Please email us at Critter Cavalry Rescue : ccrnewengland@gmail.com  Tell us where you live when you email asking for information and an application. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.January 22, 2025, 9:20 pm

Story
PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - OSCAR BREED - Dachshund/Beagle mix SIZE - About 20 pounds AGE - 1 .5 years GENDER - Male MEDICAL CONCERNS - None known BEHAVIOR CONCERNS - None known SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Oscar is an awesome little guy who came to us in the fall from a central NC shelter. He had a noticeable limp so was evaluated at the shelter and determined to have a fractured right rear leg. Otherwise young and in very good health, we were super excited to bring Oscar into rescue and help him. Our vet referred him to the surgeons at the Virginia Veterinary Center for evaluation. The team met and felt that his leg was already beginning to form a good callus and given his ability to walk, run and jump on it, that he was in no real pain. He was put on strict cage rest to allow the leg to continue to heal on its own. Now, three months later, the X-rays show that the leg has healed and Oscar is ready to find his new home and family. And they must be a special family to match this special boy! Oscar loves everyone he meets! He is super sweet and playful, and would love a big, secure yard to play in. Fully grown at just 20 pounds, he is a perfect size for most homes! Oscar is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. We are seeking a home with an adopter able to work from home or be at home the majority of the day to spend time with him. A home without large pets or small children, and with a fenced, secure yard will be required for his adoption. Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of Oscar and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and your family to meet Oscar at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting him and determining that he matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner. More information on our website at www.carerva.com.

Story
My rescue was pregnant upon adoption and we kept one of the pups- Vader. He was a lot of work since I am not a breeder or trainer, but have potty trained him. He is very safe to be around and has never attempted to bite anyone or any other dogs, however he will bark and lunge at them. Super sweet, he will sometimes knock us over to lick our face. Obsessed with licking. He is not friendly with strangers but has warmed up to friends and family when visiting- will take time to get used to you Vader does very well at doggy day care however he will lunge at other dogs while I walk him on the leash. If you have other dogs he will need extra time to warm up to them. Whenever someone approaches the home he will bark to alert us. He sometimes likes to tear up fabric, trash, and loose items. (Carpet is fine) He is also crate trained and I keep him crated while at work. He doesn't have an issue with this. Vader is a sweet boy and he can sit, stay, give paw, and lay down!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.TINA WEENA Breed: dachshund mix Age: 2 years Weight: 14 pounds Adoption Fee: $325   Vetting Status: spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, dewormed  and maintained on heartworm preventatives ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TINA WEENA is a sweet, super spunky, sassy doxie lady. Tina is convinced she's still a puppy & always wants to play, play PLAY!! Tina loves older kids, most other dogs & playing with EVERYONE.   Her  favorite games include  "lets-take-all-the-toys-to-the-couch"   and "chase-the-yellow-ball-but-dont-expect-me-to-bring-it-back-to-you". She came to us as a stray, so we don't know much of her past... only that she is very out-going, bordering on bossy "B" at times.  Chasing squirrels is VERY fun, so cats & small critters are probably not a great idea as potential housemates.   Tina is  extremely food motivated --what doxie isn't? Tina is housetrained, but not above sneaking off to piddle in the house if its raining though!   Crates are boring. Tina would much prefer to hang out with you on the couch watching TV - just don't let her steal your popcorn! If you think TINA is the dog for you, please fill out an adoption application today! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TINA WEENA is available for adoption through K-9 Rescue of the Eastern Shore.   An adoption process is required to include filling out an online adoption application available at the following link --  https://www.k9rescuees.org/info/adoption   Veterinary and personal reference checks, and a home visit/meet-n-greet are required PRIOR to being approved to adopt.   The time frame for completing this process depends largely on how quickly references respond, your vet office is able to speak to us (some want written permission first), your landlord or HOA (if applicable) confirms their approval for a pet, & how your schedule aligns with that of our volunteer(s) for the Home Visit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PLEASE NOTE ~ All of our rescue members are volunteers with many obligations. While we may not be capable of immediate response, we will respond to all inquiries and application submissions as soon as possible. Thank you for thinking adoption! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ #dachshundsofinstagram #adoptme #puppybreathVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 18, 2024, 12:10 am

Story
Oswald is a 2-year-old bundle of energy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This adorable little guy is as cute as he is funny, and he’s always ready to run, play, and bring smiles to everyone he meets. Oswald has a playful spirit and would be the perfect family dog for an active household. Whether it's running around the yard, playing fetch, or just having a good time with his humans, Oswald is always up for some fun! Oswald’s energy is unmatched, and he would thrive in a home with a fenced-in yard where he can burn off all that extra energy. He is also used to being the dominant one over his current kennel mate, so he may do best with a more submissive dog who can keep up with his playful antics. Though Oswald’s start in life wasn’t the best, he has come a long way. He came from a home where he wasn’t provided with the necessary veterinary care. He had cherry eye, retained baby teeth, and was neither vaccinated nor neutered. Thankfully, we’ve taken care of all his medical needs, and Oswald is now happy, healthy, and ready for his forever home. Oswald absolutely loves people and gets along well with other dogs. He is a social, affectionate boy who will quickly become a beloved member of any family. He’s full of love and excitement, and he’s waiting for the right family to give him the life he deserves. If you’re looking for an energetic, playful, and loving companion who will keep you on your toes, Oswald might be your perfect match!

Story
Dobby was born July 23rd 2020. He loves to run outside and acts more like a cat when he curls up. He likes to snuggle and hide under blankets. He will need surgery for a gland issue for penis that I cannot afford with 6 children. He does like to bark but that's to let you know he's hungry, thirsty, needs to go outside or is barking outside to let you know someone is there. He's definitely a spunky dog. He is good with children but will need time to warm up. He likes other dogs he's just scared of big dogs.
