Hello! I`m Rocket! I am a 8 year old, 11.63 pound, male miniature pinscher. I can be a little shy at first, but I quickly warm up to others. Once I`m comfortable I`m a sweet and playful dog that likes to be active. I walk well on a leash and love to play with humans and other dogs. I enjoy treats and scratches while I`m being petted. Unfortunately, I do have a heart murmur. I would fit in well with any home with other dogs, cats, and children.Walk-ins are available from Tuesday to Friday from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM. For information regarding the adoption process please visit our website or read the information below THANK YOU.ADOPTION PROCESS: If you are interested in adopting from Second ChanceSPCA, please come during open hours. Adopters will visit with an adoption counselor and complete a short application. Adopters must live within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and be at least 21 years old. Renters must provide proof of pet deposit and/or written permission by landlord to have a pet.ADOPTION FEES: Includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, fecal, and heartworm test (dogs) or FeLV/FIV test (cats). All cats and dogs are current on heartworm and flea preventative. $275 for puppies under 6 months of age and $225 for dogs older than 6 months. $175 for kittens under 6 months of age and $150 for cats older than 6 months.

Penny's story is heartbreaking, but her resilience inspires us all. After being abandoned in a tiny, waterlogged crate and left to die, Penny was rushed to the ER. Her condition shocked everyone, including Animal Control, who were horrified by what they saw. She was malnourished, dehydrated and so skinny and frail. Despite everything, Penny is a fighter. We suspect she may be a breed dog who was discarded, left outside in the pouring rain, and treated like she was disposable. But today, she is safe. Today, she is loved. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. Bessie Is Available For Adoption This exceptionally sweet girl has come a long, long way since the day she was rescued off the street with her newborns. She was a homeless young mama dog struggling to survive with her one week old puppies. She was malnourished, afraid & untrusting. The rescuers collected her puppies then captured her by gently coaxing her to safety. Once safe & secure, they were transported to a loving foster home. Fast forward to today.. Bessie has weaned her puppies. All but one survived. The TLC & good nutrition she has received in foster care has helped her so much! Bessie's coat is no longer brittle & dull. It's soft & shiny. Her eyes smile now! They no longer show fear. Bessie has blossomed into a precious one year old who loves to be petted & hugged. It's so wonderful to see her playing with her stuffies like a happy pup! 🐶💛🧸 She enjoys being outdoors & can often be caught sunbathing near the pool. She's absolutely wonderful with other dogs & we imagine she would be great around cats & kiddos with slow intros. She has shown zero aggression, even when she was scared.😇 Bessie is ready to find her forever home. Once she feels safe, she warms up & wants to be loved!💗 Bessie is around a year old & she weighs 28 lbs & full grown. She's so super sweet & adorable!
