Story
Snoopy is my emotional support animal and my world. We are very close and I want nothing but the absolute best for him. Since he is around 12 years old he has some physical needs that need to be looked at and I am surviving on disability alone. I am finding that as much as I would want to be able to provide for him, I'm finding that he has needs beyond what I can do. I thought I would see if anyone locally has a heart for a loving senior dog that deserves all the chance this world has to offer. It's time after all of these years of supporting me, that I do what he needs even if that breaks my heart. If anyone is interested in giving this sweetheart the care he needs, vet visits and a fighting chance please let me know. Thank you.

Story
Don’t let Fritz’s age fool you! He can keep up with the best of us! He is a 6 to 7 year old Dachshund mix that weighs 18 pounds and arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 1/14. He has a large gash/scar on his left hip. He also has an unusual gait when he walks or runs. He sort of swings his legs out. It works for him and he gets along fine. I’m wondering if that scar from an old injury has something to do with it. He has been seen by our vet and is on anti-inflammatory medicine and pain medication. It doesn’t seem to bother him. He loves walks and trots right along beside you. Then he does a little dance to let you know he wants to get up on your lap. He’s a lapdog wannabe! He’s sweet, somewhat frisky, affectionate, adorable, and seeks affection. A staff member commented that she thought he was housebroken. I think so too. He didn’t have a problem meeting other dogs. A small dog like this needs to be an inside dog. He would curl up beside you or on your lap while you watch TV or read a book

Story
Franklin is a Dachshund/Terrier mix that’s about 3 years old and weighs 24lbs. He was found living on the streets as a stray and is learning quickly how great it is to live in a house! Franklin is good with other dogs, but he`s a bit wary of humans at first. He warms up to women right away, but takes his time getting to know men. Once he trusts you though, you`ve got a friend for life. Franklin will follow you anywhere and everywhere!Franklin is a very loving boy and is working hard on all his training so that he can be the best dog he can be. His biggest goals right now are to finish his potty training (he`s so close!) and to learn to stay calm and relaxed in his kennel. He’s full of life and a little silly, so after working on his training he loves playing, belly rubs, and snuggles.Franklin had a rough start to life but that hasn’t stopped him from being a wonderful, faithful companion. To help him continue living the good life in a loving home, please apply to adopt him today at www.pawsinthecity.org

Story
Meet James Howlett, also known as Howie, a charming male dog with lots of love to give. He's great with small dogs and kids, but might chase cats during play. This sweet pup is not just cute but also comes with impressive credentials-he's crate-trained and has mastered the art of potty training. He enjoys both playtime and quiet moments. Most of all, he craves companionship and loves to be around people. His favorite treats are Purina Beggin' strips, and he enjoys toys that keep him busy. Howie would thrive in a home where someone is around often and has space to stretch his legs and run free. With his loving nature, Howie is ready to make someone's life infinitely brighter. All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs over six months to seven years is $200, puppies under six months is $250, dogs eight years and over are $100 unless specified otherwise. Story
These dogs are about 2 years old and trained off leash. They are twins, Dallas and Bucho. I was supposed to “watch” them for 2 weeks and they were abandoned at my house by a 17 year old kid who later explained his family was abusing them and he saw how I treated my dogs and knew they would be better off here. I am moving and can not take them with me sadly as I love these dogs. My goal is to have them adopted together as they have always had each other through many homes and I don’t think it would be good to tear them apart. No fee but I did promise the kid I would make sure they found a loving home. I’ve tried many places but no luck. It’s a shame as these are excellent dogs. Anything you would like to know you can reach out to me and I can send videos of them listening to my commands, interacting with cats, and not chasing stray dogs purely by voice command to turn around, while they are off leash.
