Story
Xerxes (pronounced Zerk-Zees) is an adorable 7-pound, 5-month-old Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund) puppy who is chock full of personality and fun. We expect he’ll be 10 to 12 pounds when fully grown. Xerxes lives in a foster home with 6 cats and 6 dogs, and he gets along well with everyone. (See the pic of him snuggling with the cats.) He’s an affectionate boy who loves to snuggle with Foster Dogdad on the couch. Xerxes loves to play and his favorite toys are other dogs. He can wrassle endlessly and play zoomies around the yard for as long as Foster Dogmom will leave him outside. He is almost fully house-trained, but expect to have accidents with him in a new house. He will do well in a home or apartment with another dog (of playing age!). He would probably also be very happy with a couple of rambunctious kids to play with. Xerxes’ adoption fee is $300 and includes neuter, all shots & microchip. He is heartworm-negative and on heartworm medication. Note: We always respond first to inquiries that tell us something about your living situation (house, apartment, single, family, etc.) and why you want this dog. Be sure to include your phone number in your inquiry. We call inquiries that seem to be a good fit for the dog.

How did I end up in this shelter? Well, let's just say I mistook the neighbor's garden gnome for a chew toy, and boy, was he protective of that gnome! But hey, all that energy can be channeled into something great. Imagine all the fun we could have at the park, or how I could help you burn off those extra cookies. If you're looking for a lively companion who's always up for an adventure, I'm your guy. Adopt me, and let's make gnome-gate a thing of the past!December 7, 2024, 5:57 pm
