Story
We would like to introduce four puppies full of L-O-V-E! Drumstick, Sundae, Creamsicle and Choco Taco were rescued in November 2024, and they are each on the hunt for their perfect match! These kiddos suffered from a fungal infection at the time of their transfer, but they have fully recovered. And don’t they look incredible?! They are the perfect example of “started from the bottom, now we’re here!” On top of their newfound good looks, our Ice Cream Litter is the perfect blend of playful energy and cuddly charm. If they’re not wrestling around together, they’re napping in a puppy pile or snuggling up to the first human they can find. They are happier and healthier than ever—all that is left is for them to find their families. Could that be with you? If you’ve got a heart for hounds, don’t miss out! Apply today.

Story
Chiweenie looking for loving home. This is Pumpkin, he’s a 2 year old and is a cuddle bug. He loves to lay on the couch, watch tv, and play with his toys. He also enjoys running around in the yard with his father named Mr.Weenie, a 3 year old dachshund. He gets along great with him but barks at other dogs. For the most part he is potty trained but he does have accidents while I’m at work. He will sit, come when called, and is crate trained. Unfortunately I have to find him and his father a new home as I don’t have the money to give them the life they need. If you’re looking for a dog that will love you, cuddle with you, and eat all your treats, Pumpkin is what your looking for.

Welcome to the Wonderful World of Rescue Dachshunds.  Look around and read their bios.  Find a few whose personality seems to fit well.  Consider one of our Well Seasoned Seniors who are truly wonderful and have so much to offer.  Need help finding the best fit?  We'll help with that too.  Please fill out an application and let’s get you all matched up with a loving new “furever’ companion and friend. You’ll find the application on the “Available Dogs” page.  NOTE:   Adoptions to Central/South Texas residents only    Please see FAQs for current adoption fees.  DDRTX only adopts in Central/South Texas. Email:  ddrtxinfo@gmail.com                 Primary Website:  www.DDRTX.org Bonded with Holly Bea - Bonded pairDouble Dapple Chip may be blind and mostly deaf, but with his absolutely precious “seeing eye” sister, Holly (also a double dapple) there to help him, he’s close to perfect!  these two are friendly, gentle, loving, kissy, and soak up the attention.  One would have a hard time realizing he’s vision impaired as he easily discovered his “space” and can go in and out the dog door just perfectly fine.  If you have a smaller yard, and a dog door, he’ll easily learn how to maneuver and Holly will help him (and you!) immensely. they are as loving as they are gorgeous!  Please consider offering these two a place in your home for the rest of their days so that they can live life with comfort, security, and lots of snuggles.  Chip is 13 years old. Chip and Holly are a bonded pair, thus they need to be adopted together!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
