Story
Hi! My name is Silvia, but my foster mom calls me Callie. I would love to be your brown eyed girl. I’m a young high spirited female mix of catahoula, lab and whippet. While it’s not polite to ask a lady her age or weight I am around a year old and 37 pounds. I am super affectionate and enjoy meeting people and other dogs. I go into my kennel without a fuss. I am 85% potty trained and still figuring out the doggie door evidently feet first isn’t quite right. I am practicing leash training and working on my manners. I am a quicker learner and will be good at agility or running and love long walks. I enjoy car rides and snuggles and have met the neighborhood kids and they really like me. Don’t be fooled by my sleek exterior I have a very impressive bark. I have a great time play with my foster sister we have so much playing. I am working on not getting too excited when I see cats and squirrels but hey I am part catahoula it’s in my name. I am looking for a loving home and I think we could have lots of fun together! **Because we require home visits, we only adopt locally to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. For more on adoption policies, please see the How it Works page of our website, www.habitat4paws.org.

Story
Lilly is a 3.5 year old, 25 lb Dachshund/Miniature Schnauzer mix. Breed mix is our best guess, but her cute scruffiness and short little legs make that a pretty good guess. Foster mom says that Lilly is a bundle of joy; she is a true cuddle bug who loves nothing more than snuggling up with her humans and giving lots of kisses and tail wags. She is gentle, loving, and enjoys being close to her family members. She has a relaxed demeanor and is very easygoing. Lilly gets along well with other dogs and loves meeting new people. She's great with kids and would make a wonderful family pet. She loves to go for walks. She is house-trained and knows basic commands. Give Lilly a chance to be a part of your family, and you'll gain a friend for life. She's always ready to greet you with a wagging tail and a big smile. Please submit your application, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Story
Penny's story is heartbreaking, but her resilience inspires us all. After being abandoned in a tiny, waterlogged crate and left to die, Penny was rushed to the ER. Her condition shocked everyone, including Animal Control, who were horrified by what they saw. She was malnourished, dehydrated and so skinny and frail. Despite everything, Penny is a fighter. We suspect she may be a breed dog who was discarded, left outside in the pouring rain, and treated like she was disposable. But today, she is safe. Today, she is loved. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Dachshund Pug

Story
So Minnie is a Dachshund Pug with probably some recent Chihuahua in there. The Dachshund in her is strong, many of her main personality traits are more wiener dog like. This includes her attitudes toward meeting new people or animals she can seem mean but its her being protective and once it is shown they are not a threat shes as friendly as can be. I've had her since she was a puppy born to a dog I previously owned, she was born Spring of 2023. Since she was little shes always had so much energy and curiosity. She loves tug-o-war and play fighting. She is VERY food motivated. She straight up watches TV and if its animals or fighting she has something to say about it too. I have to re-home her because I moved unexpectedly. I moved in with family and the situation is not working. She needs someone who has time to play with her and watch and hang out with her until its kennel time. She will cuddle with you for hours and just generally be a great companion.
