Story
Penny's story is heartbreaking, but her resilience inspires us all. After being abandoned in a tiny, waterlogged crate and left to die, Penny was rushed to the ER. Her condition shocked everyone, including Animal Control, who were horrified by what they saw. She was malnourished, dehydrated and so skinny and frail. Despite everything, Penny is a fighter. We suspect she may be a breed dog who was discarded, left outside in the pouring rain, and treated like she was disposable. But today, she is safe. Today, she is loved. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Story
Hello! I`m Rocket! I am a 8 year old, 11.63 pound, male miniature pinscher. I can be a little shy at first, but I quickly warm up to others. Once I`m comfortable I`m a sweet and playful dog that likes to be active. I walk well on a leash and love to play with humans and other dogs. I enjoy treats and scratches while I`m being petted. Unfortunately, I do have a heart murmur. I would fit in well with any home with other dogs, cats, and children.Walk-ins are available from Tuesday to Friday from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Saturday and Sundays have walk-in hours from noon to 4 PM. The best way to get in touch with us is by email: info@secondchancespca.org. Due to the volume of calls, only the most urgent calls will be returned. For information regarding the adoption process please visit our website or read the information below THANK YOU.ADOPTION PROCESS: If you are interested in adopting from Second ChanceSPCA, please come during open hours. Story
So Minnie is a Dachshund Pug with probably some recent Chihuahua in there. The Dachshund in her is strong, many of her main personality traits are more wiener dog like. This includes her attitudes toward meeting new people or animals she can seem mean but its her being protective and once it is shown they are not a threat shes as friendly as can be. I've had her since she was a puppy born to a dog I previously owned, she was born Spring of 2023. Since she was little shes always had so much energy and curiosity. She loves tug-o-war and play fighting. She is VERY food motivated. She straight up watches TV and if its animals or fighting she has something to say about it too. I have to re-home her because I moved unexpectedly. I moved in with family and the situation is not working. She needs someone who has time to play with her and watch and hang out with her until its kennel time. She will cuddle with you for hours and just generally be a great companion.

BREED-Dachshund Mix; SEX-Male; SIZE-Small; WEIGHT-13 lbs.; AGE-Approximately 2 Years; SPAY/NEUTER-Yes; HOUSETRAINED-Currently Uses Doggie Door; GOOD WITH KIDS-Yes; GOOD WITH DOGS-Yes; GOOD WITH CATS-Unknown; HISTORY-Rescued From A Local Shelter; ADOPTION FEE-$300;Hello there, I'm Bruce. You know, my life wasn't always this way. I used to be a superhero, believe it or not. I had a knack for finding lost things, and I'd dash off, my nose leading the way. One day, I found a little girl who'd wandered away from her family's picnic. I led her back to safety, wagging my tail all the way. But I got lost myself and ended up here. Don't get me wrong, this place is nice, but I miss the thrill of the chase, the wind in my fur. I'd love to find a new family, one that needs a hero like me. I promise, I'll be the best sidekick you ever had.November 25, 2024, 7:13 pm
