Story
Meet Mr. Scruffles, the ultimate furry best friend! This 3-year-old, 25-pound cutie has never met a stranger—he adores everyone, and trust us, the feeling is mutual! Mr. Scruffles is the perfect mix of playful and cuddly. One moment, he’s zooming around the yard, playing catch, or winning a game of tug-of-war, and the next, he’s curled up on the couch, soaking up belly rubs. He’s the ideal companion for both adventure and relaxation. He’s crate trained, potty trained, and making great progress with leash training. Mr. Scruffles is also cat-friendly and gets along well with most dogs after a slow introduction. He has met kids and done wonderfully with them! Currently, he shares his foster home with two other dogs and loves their company, but he would also thrive as an only dog—as long as he has his beloved humans by his side. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and endlessly charming companion, Mr. Scruffles is your guy! --- To apply to adopt, please follow the steps for adoption on HalfwayThereRescue.com/Adoption-Process and apply directly here: https://fs26.formsite.com/htrnp/a2k3lsooud/index.html

Fish and Sarge both weigh 12 pounds and Oscar Meyer is just a bit bigger he weighs 16 pounds. The boys are mainly dachshund but we think they could be a little mixed with something else. We received them from a shelter in Spruce Pine. All 4 pups including Mammalade were living in a vacant house after their owners moved out in August and sadly left them behind. These boys are very sweet but are a little shy with strangers and comes around quickly with trust so no small children. They would all do well with female dogs, but they have been scrappy with each other here with us. Their adoption fees are $300 each. Whiskey has a high prey drive like most dachshunds so we dont think he will do well with cats.. Whiskey interacts well with other dogs around him in normal situations like at the dog park on a leash etc.    He just needs to be the only pet in his new home as he doesnt want to compete for attention. to adopt please fill out an application. 20.00 application fee applies  https://www.chapmansdox.com/adoptJanuary 23, 2025, 12:08 pm

Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 2/10/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Hazel is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 2/26/25 Hazel had a dental polishing. Weight: 11.5 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? Hazel requires a physically fenced in yard so that she is able to have lots of playtime and space to relax. Your physical fence must be 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Sweet Hazel is a young dog with little life experiences. What she makes up for in knowledge of how to be a pet, she makes up for with a heart of gold and an eager-to-learn approach. Hazel is looking for a home with a family that has owned dogs. She requires another small, confident dog in the home for behavior modeling. Hazel has never known a home without canine companions and knows her forever home understands that right now she's more comfortable with dogs than people. What is my personality like? Meet Hazel - a stunning, quiet, shy beauty who is looking for her forever home. She is a gentle soul, with a tender heart full of love just patiently waiting for the right person to help her shine. Hazel has a quiet, tender spirit and it takes a little time for her to warm up. If she has another dog present, she is more likely to open up quicker. Hazel was a breeder release, so having other dogs around is all she’s ever known, which is why she requires another small breed, confident canine friend to keep her company and make her feel secure. Once she feels safe, Hazel's true personality emerges — soft nuzzles, gentle tail wags, and the sweetest cuddles you’ve ever had. She needs a calm, patient home where she can open up and build trust at her own pace. Hazel has so much love to give. With time, she’ll become your most devoted companion, following you around, begging to go play outside and enjoying the quiet moments and cherishing every bit of affection she receives. Hazel is a smart girl who picks up onto things rather quickly but is still learning things like basic obedience and commands. She is also still learning how to properly walk on a leash as it currently makes her a little nervous, but with patience and a canine sibling to lead the way, we suspect it won’t take long for her to accept fun leash walks! Hazel would also greatly benefit from socialization trips so the world doesn’t seem like such a scary place for her. If you’re willing to give her the patience she needs, Hazel will reward you with a lifetime of gentle, unconditional love. You could be the one to show her how wonderful a forever home can be! How do I act when I first meet new people? This sweet girl is a bit shy and reserved at first, but with patience and kindness, Hazel blossoms into the most loyal and loving companion.  Other tips and tidbits: Hazel's birthday is 9/3/2023. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. March 10, 2025, 8:51 pm

Pebbles is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Pebbles has been diagnosed with Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), a condition that affects her spine and requires special care. Because of her IVDD, Pebbles needs to live in a home without stairs. Weight: 18 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $299 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Meet sweet Pebbles, a beautiful long-haired Dachshund with a heart full of love! Pebbles has been diagnosed with Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), a condition that affects her spine and requires special care. Because of her IVDD, Pebbles needs to live in a home without stairs. IVDD is a degenerative disease where the spinal discs in the vertebrae bulge or rupture, putting pressure on the spinal nerves. This can lead to pain, difficulty walking, nerve damage, and even paralysis. The condition often results from acute injuries, such as when dachshunds go up or down stairs or jump onto furniture. To ensure Pebbles stays safe, her adopters must prevent her from climbing stairs or jumping on couches, chairs, etc. While IVDD is a manageable condition, her adopters will need to monitor her activities carefully. Aside from her IVDD, Pebbles is a happy girl who will make a wonderful companion. She’ll thrive in either an apartment or house, as long as her environment is safe for her condition. Pebbles doesn’t mind whether her adopter is single, a couple, or a family—she just wants to be loved and cared for. If there are children in the home, older kids (12+ years) who understand the importance of not picking her up or letting her jump will be best for her. What is my personality like? Pebbles is a calm, relaxed little girl. Pebbles gets along well with smaller, calmer dogs but isn’t fond of rough play, likely due to her back issues. She also loves her nap time, so a cozy dog bed is a must for her to relax and rest comfortably. If you’re looking for a loving little companion who will bring joy to your life, Pebbles is the girl for you! How do I act when I first meet new people? Pebbles is friendly and enjoys attention. She’ll always be at the door to greet you when you come home, eager for love and affection. Other tips and tidbits: Pebbles' birthday is 2/3/2020. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours.
