Story
QUICK FACTS  Name: Dayeon Age: 4 months old Gender: Female (Spaying Scheduled) Breed: Dachshund mix Color: Black, White (with spots) Weight: 5.4kg / 12lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I’m not sure how I ended up at a city pound as such a young pup, but my journey led me to a city pound, where I was placed on the euthanasia list simply due to lack of space. Thanks to timely rescue and the kindness of caring humans, I was given a precious second chance at life. Now, I’m safe, full of love, and ready to start my next chapter — finding a forever family to call my own.   MY PERSONALITY I’m a sweet girl who may be a little timid at first, but with tasty treats and kind, reassuring words, I open up quickly. At the care facility, even when other dogs crowd in for treats, I tend to step back and let myself get pushed aside — a little glimpse into just how gentle and sweet my nature is. I’m still a young pup, learning about the big world around me, and I’m eager to grow in confidence with a loving family by my side.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little shy at first and prefer not to be petted right away, but I’ll happily take treats from you with a gentle touch. Once I have time to warm up and feel safe, I allow petting and enjoy the affection. I’m also comfortable being picked up. I don’t have much experience with children under 13, and loud noises or sudden movements can startle me. Because of this, I would do best in a calm home with no kids, or with dog-savvy children or teenagers who understand how to be respectful of my space and let me move at my own pace. With patience and kindness, I’ll continue to grow in confidence. · With Dogs: I’m pretty independent and tend to do my own thing, so I don’t show much interest in other dogs. That said, I get along well with the dogs at the care facility and am very gentle around them. I’d thrive in a home where I can enjoy my own space while still having kind, calm companions nearby. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. A cat test can be arranged upon request to ensure the best fit!   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level—I enjoy spending time outdoors, but I’m just as happy to snuggle up indoors afterward.   TRAINING & HABITS I’m still learning my leash walking skills and continue to receive basic training and socialization to help me grow more confident every day. I don’t guard my food from people or other dogs, and I rarely bark. I also know how to rest calmly in my kennel. I potty both indoors and outdoors, though in the beginning I can be a little shy and may try to run away, so I’ll need some time to settle into my new environment. For safety, I must always be double-leashed with a harness and collar, and I wear a GPS tracker. With patience, consistency, and love, I’ll continue to blossom into the confident, happy pup I’m meant to be.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself, and a stable environment. A family that understands I’m still a young pup and is patient with me throughout and continue to provide me with basic training and socialization. A family that enjoys outdoor & indoor time together. A family that will love and cherish me forever.   SPECIAL NOTES I may be a little shy at first, but underneath that gentle layer, I’m a sweet, curious girl with a big heart. I’m still a young pup with so much potential, and with the right guidance, patience, and love, I know I’ll grow into a confident and wonderful young lady. Every day is a new adventure for me, and I can’t wait to explore the world with my forever family by my side.   Dayeon's YouTube Playlist   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2607572##
