You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Hello! My name's Ibar! Ibar is a charming little dog with a heart full of love. Despite a challenging start in life from a hoarding situation, he has proven to be resilient and sweet-natured. This adorable canine companion has a special affinity for toys and delights in playtime, especially with other dogs. Due to his past experiences, Ibar may initially appear shy, but underneath that hesitancy lies a gentle and affectionate soul. He is in the process of learning to trust and become more comfortable with people. Patience is key when interacting with Ibar, as he may take some time to warm up to new faces and situations. In the right environment, Ibar has the potential to blossom into a confident and happy pup. A caring and patient owner who understands his need for time and reassurance will be the perfect match for Ibar. With love and support, Ibar is sure to overcome his fears and embrace the joy that life has to offer. *He has had surgery for his cherry eyes twice but they have come back both times.*  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 3, 2024, 2:10 pm

Story
Skippy is a 4 month old, 7 lb Dachshund mix. Skippy came to the rescue with his brother Salty from a rough situation where he was left outside and experienced no human touch for the first several months of his life. He is now safe and doing well in his loving foster home. He is learning all the exciting things about being a puppy and what a safe and happy home feels like thanks to his foster mom. This sweet boy loves other dogs and gravitates towards them. He loves playing outside in his yard with his doggie buddies and is very easy going in nature. Because he still has lots to learn about trusting humans and socialization, he will need a patient family who can work with him on training and confidence. He's learning about getting pets and receiving affection now and will just take time to build trust. He needs a fenced or secure yard since he is still a flight risk and learning to trust. If you have a big heart and looking for a diamond in the rough, Skippy may be the boy for you! Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We provide transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!October 3, 2024, 5:03 pm

Story
Salty is a 4 month old, 7 lbs Dachshund mix. Little Salty had a rough start in life. He was left outside and did not experience any human touch for the first several months of his life. He has come a long way now and in his loving and patient foster home, he has learned to accept pets and lets his foster mom gently hold him. He is really learning to trust and starting to accept that people are loving and good. He has even started snuggling up with his foster mom at bedtime under the blankets! He is an absolute sweetheart despite all he has been through and with time, we know he will be a happy, confident dog. He is a flight risk because of his fear, so a fenced/secure yard is a must. He is does well in his crate at bedtime too. He loves other dogs and having another dog for confidence would be a plus in his new home! He will need a patient adopter who can work with him. He is very submissive and needs proper training and socialization including how to walk on a leash. When he feels safe, he loves to play and it's the sweetest thing to see! Salty hopes that his new family comes for him soon so he can grow up in a loving, stable home where he is loved and is given the chance to blossom into a happy, healthy and confident dog! Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/.
