Story
Meet Marcie – A Gentle Girl Looking for Her Forever Home Marcie is a sweet, senior dog who deserves nothing more than a loving home where she can relax and feel safe. After a life filled with challenges, she’s ready for a fresh start. Marcie is a calm and gentle soul who would make the perfect companion for someone looking for a low-key, loving friend. Marcie would thrive in a quiet home where she can settle in at her own pace and enjoy peaceful days. She’s great with people and other dogs, making her a wonderful addition to any home that values kindness and companionship. However, due to her age and gentle nature, she would do best in a home without small children. Marcie’s Ideal Home: A quiet, calm environment where she can feel safe A family or individual who will appreciate her gentle nature No homes with small children Someone who will give her the love and care she’s long deserved If you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion, Marcie could be the one for you. She’s ready to live out her golden years in comfort and peace—could that be with you? Interested in meeting Marcie? Story
Miss Caroline is new here at HSEC, but she is slowly showing us her personality! Coming from a rough hoarding/breeding situation, Caroline is hoping to find a new start in life. This adorable pup, with her short stature and floppy ears, may weigh 30lbs but doesn`t look like it. This small gal is dog and cat-friendly, which makes her a perfect fit for any home! Caroline does great on a leash and in the crate, but we are still working on house training. We believe that with a good routine, Caroline can learn quickly and adapt! Our adoption fee for dogs is $200.00. This fee includes spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccines, microchip, dewormer, and consistent heartworm and flea prevention before leaving the facility. If you are interested in adopting, please go to our website, hsecarolina.org, where you will find our adoption application. Please fill it out and submit it, and once your application is reviewed, someone will reach out to you to set up an appointment.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Boo Boo requires an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application. PLEASE submit an application now at:   The link to our application is https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC          Foster comments:   Miss Boo Boo is one of the friendliest dogs I have ever met!  She is fostered with a pack of five other dogs.  While she does not actively interact with them, she acknowledges their presence and will push them aside so that she can receive pats from her humans. She loves her humans!!   She would do fine as an only dog or one of many.  She does require constant appreciation and will whine if she does not have your full attention.  Her foster household does not have cats so we are not sure how she will get along with cats.  Her energy is low, she is such a couch potato!  She will lay with her head next to you and her eyes will look longing into yours as you pat her and show her affection.  The youngest child she has been around is 10 years old, but her temperament leads me to believe that she would do fine with children. She is food motivated but does not guard the resource.  She will, however, offer to finish your dinner if you dawdle too much.  Miss Boo Boo is not normally a barker, but she will join in a community sing along with other canine companions.   She currently is fostered in a home that has a fenced in backyard with free access to back yard, but I can tell that she is used to being walked on a leash as she needs prompting to go outside and do her business.  Miss Boo Boo is an adorable grand lady that needs a forever home and would welcome the love and attention she so richly deserves.  EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:  Sadly, Boo Boo's owner passed away and she ended up in a rural shelter. Best Friend Pet Adoption stepped in knowing that senior dogs are rarely adopted from shelters and she was at risk.  We are now trying to find a good home for her.   Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.
