Please read ALL of this listing prior to emailing with questions or inquiries. If you are interested in Deana and feel that you would be a good match for her, you MUST FIRST fill out and submit our application at: https://foreverhomek9rescue.org/adoption-application/ (copy and paste). After we receive your application and review it, we will contact you. Thank you! Biscuit is a cute little 11-lb. Dachshund/Chihuahua mix who is looking for his forever home and family, along with his buddy, Dixie. We're told he's about 11-years old, but he certainly doesn't act like a senior... he still has plenty of energy and enjoys going for long walks. In his foster home, Biscuit gets along well with the other three small dogs. He is well housetrained, and 'does his business' on a leash since his foster home doesn't have a fenced yard. Biscuit does sleep in a crate at night, but doesn't enjoys it and will complain for a while before he settles down. He does not do well riding in a car, so a family who generally stays close to home and will take him for nice long walks (which he really enjoys) will be best for him. Biscuit especially loves his foster dad, and will cuddle next to or on him whenever possible. We know that he would love to have a male in his new family! Biscuit is neutered, microchipped, current on his Distemper/Parvo, Bordetella and Rabies vaccinations, and tested negative for Heartworms. He also received a dental cleaning, so he is fully vetted and ready to go to his forever home. Biscuit's adoption fee is $400.00 if adopted separately. The adoption fee is $600.00 for Biscuit and Dixie together. Biscuit is a loving, sweet, and smart little boy who deserves only the best home and family! If you feel that you would like to add Biscuit (or Biscuit and Dixie together) to your family, please submit an application at: https://foreverhomek9rescue.org/adoption-application/ (copy and paste). Forever Home Canine Rescue offers a three-week trial period with all of our adoptions, just to be sure that the pet is a good match for the adopting family. The fee is refunded if the adoption does not work out within the trial period. We want to be sure that each of our pets will have their perfect 'forever' home! Although Forever Home Canine Rescue adopts out-of-state, we never ship or transport our pets. An approved adopter must come to North Carolina to meet their new canine companion and then take him/her back home with them.

We're told she's about 11-years old, but she certainly doesn't act like a senior... she still has plenty of energy and enjoys running around in the yard and going for long walks. Dixie is extremely well socialized and gets along with everybody. She's a quiet girl, unlike most Dachshunds, and her foster mom thinks she a perfect little girl... a joy to have around the house! In her foster home, Dixie gets along well with all the other resident dogs, both big and small. We don't know about cats, but since she's so laid-back we're pretty certain she would be fine with cats. She is housetrained and crate trained. She can do 'her business' while on a leash since her first foster home didn't have a fenced yard. Dixie sleeps quietly in a crate at night without any complaints, but we know she'd love to snuggle with her new guardian in their 'big bed'! Dixie is spayed, microchipped, current on her Distemper/Parvo, Bordetella and Rabies vaccinations, and tested negative for Heartworms. She also received a dental cleaning, so she is fully vetted and ready to go to her forever home. Dixie's adoption fee is $400.00. Story
Please read ALL of this listing prior to asking questions. If you are interested in Beaux and feel that you would be a good match for her, you must first fill out an application here (please copy and paste the link): https://foreverhomek9rescue.org/adoption-application/ After we receive your application we will contact you... thank you! Beaux is a beautiful chocolate and tan, 9-year-old Dachshund who is ready for her forever home. She came to us paralyzed, but quickly regained use of her legs, and can now run and play to her heart's content! This little Doxie has some trouble being still. Even when she’s really tired, she still wants to keep going. And she absolutely LOVES to ride -- in a car, a boat, wheelbarrow, or backpack. As long as she isn't left in the house, she’s a happy little camper! Although Beaux does very well with the other dogs in her foster family, she is capable of entertaining herself and probably would do well without another canine companion, as long as she has human companionship. Beaux also LOVES children! Like most Dachshunds, she is highly intelligent... and a bit more mischievous than your average pup. Because of Beaux’s high energy level, she tries to go up and down stairs, hop off the furniture, etc. -- things that Dachshund's really aren't supposed to do. She would do best in a home with a fenced yard, so she can run and explore safely. Her foster home has a fenced yard with a doggie door. Her foster parents have not taught her to walk on a leash, which is one thing we're hoping her new family will be able and willing to do for her. Beaux is housetrained, but her back injury affected her bladder-control and at times she may dribble when she walks toward the door. She wears a doggie diaper most of the time in her foster home. Like most Dachshund's, Beaux has a great appetite! She enjoys carrots and other veggies… and she loves watermelon. She has a few favorite chew toys -- one of which is a golf ball! Beaux is healthy and isn't currently on any special medications other than a supplement for joint support. She is current on her Distemper/Parvo and Rabies vaccine and is spayed, microchipped, Heartworm tested, and had her teeth cleaned. She tested negative for Heartworms, and is on Heartguard for Heartworm prevention. Beaux's adoption fee is $400.00. We accept checks or cash for adoption fees... sorry, we do not take cards. Beaux is a loving, active, and smart little girl who deserves only the best home and family! If you feel that Beaux would be a good match for your family, please submit an application by going to our website foreverhomek9rescue.org for an application and email the completed application to us at foreverhomek9rescue@yahoo.com. Story
George is a sweet dog, he’s about six years old. He enjoys barking at other dogs and chasing squirrels. When I’m not at home George just barks all day and my apartment community is considering making me move if it continues. I hate to let George go but I don’t have a choice. He only barks when I’m not home or when he’s outside playing.

Story
Meet Charlie -- an almost 2 year old chiweenie that is full of personality! Charlie first came into our rescue as a 6 month old puppy that had been obtained answering a Craigslist ad when he was just 6 weeks old. Because poor Charlie was pulled from his litter too soon and perhaps because he was never properly socialized -- we have worked hard with Charlie in the last year on socalization and training as he has been fostered by a professional dog trainer (who happens to also be one of his biggest fans). Charlie is a total lovebug 99% of the time (and actually in the right home, 100% of the time) and just needs a good home prepared to offer him the structure he needs! Charlie loves his person and other dogs -- and even does well with cats. Charlie takes some time to warm up to new people and just needs someone that will give him space when it is needed. Charlie does have a previous bite history -- bites that are understandable when you understand how sensitive Charlie is in moments of stress and anxiety. Charlie LOVES to do zoomies and loves to play with other small dogs. He is quite the comedian! He has thrived with his trainer -- who will help with his transition into a new home and will be available to assist Charlie's new adopters. Charlie is housetrained, crate trained and leash trained -- and has learned so much during his training with his foster home. Because of Charlie's previous history, we think that it is best if he not go to a home with children under 10 years of age.  Ironically Charlie can be quite the life of the party -- and can make you laugh so hard! He makes silly sounds, entertains himself with toys and loves to snuggle up in your lap for snuggles. Some of his quirks might be lifelong (but let's be honest -- we all have our quirks). We are so hoping that Charlie's forever home is out there with a Charlie size hole in their heart. We know how much love this boy has to give and we are looking forward to finding that home that is seeking a "diamond in the ruff" that they can watch continue to bloom! Charlie is current on vetting, neutered and microchipped -- waiting on his forever home to pop up any day now! ##1789418##
