Please read ALL of this listing prior to asking questions. If you are interested in Beaux and feel that you would be a good match for her, you must first fill out an application here (please copy and paste the link): https://foreverhomek9rescue.org/adoption-application/ After we receive your application we will contact you... thank you! Beaux is a beautiful chocolate and tan, 9-year-old Dachshund who is ready for her forever home. She came to us paralyzed, but quickly regained use of her legs, and can now run and play to her heart's content! This little Doxie has some trouble being still. Even when she’s really tired, she still wants to keep going. And she absolutely LOVES to ride -- in a car, a boat, wheelbarrow, or backpack. As long as she isn't left in the house, she’s a happy little camper! Although Beaux does very well with the other dogs in her foster family, she is capable of entertaining herself and probably would do well without another canine companion, as long as she has human companionship. Beaux also LOVES children! Like most Dachshunds, she is highly intelligent... and a bit more mischievous than your average pup. Because of Beaux’s high energy level, she tries to go up and down stairs, hop off the furniture, etc. -- things that Dachshund's really aren't supposed to do. She would do best in a home with a fenced yard, so she can run and explore safely. Her foster home has a fenced yard with a doggie door. Her foster parents have not taught her to walk on a leash, which is one thing we're hoping her new family will be able and willing to do for her. Beaux is housetrained, but her back injury affected her bladder-control and at times she may dribble when she walks toward the door. She wears a doggie diaper most of the time in her foster home. Like most Dachshund's, Beaux has a great appetite! She enjoys carrots and other veggies… and she loves watermelon. She has a few favorite chew toys -- one of which is a golf ball! Beaux is healthy and isn't currently on any special medications other than a supplement for joint support. She is current on her Distemper/Parvo and Rabies vaccine and is spayed, microchipped, Heartworm tested, and had her teeth cleaned. She tested negative for Heartworms, and is on Heartguard for Heartworm prevention. Beaux's adoption fee is $400.00. We accept checks or cash for adoption fees... sorry, we do not take cards. Beaux is a loving, active, and smart little girl who deserves only the best home and family! If you feel that Beaux would be a good match for your family, please submit an application by going to our website foreverhomek9rescue.org for an application and email the completed application to us at foreverhomek9rescue@yahoo.com. You can also submit an application by going to: https://foreverhomek9rescue.org/adoption-application/ (cut and paste). Forever Home Canine Rescue offers a three-week trial period with all of our adoptions, just to be sure that the pet is a good match for the adopting family. The fee is refunded if the adoption does not work out within the trial period. We want to be sure that each of our pets will have their perfect 'forever' home! Although Forever Home Canine Rescue adopts out-of-state, we never ship or transport our pets. An approved adopter must come to North Carolina to meet their new canine companion and then take him/her back home with them.

Please read ALL of this listing prior to asking questions. If you are interested in Earl Grey and feel that you would be a good match for him, you must first fill out an application here (please copy and paste the link): https://foreverhomek9rescue.org/adoption-application/ After we receive your application we will contact you... thank you! Meet Earl Grey... our little wire coated Dachshund, who through no fault of his own is needing a forever home. Earl Grey came to us an an abandonment case from Animal Control. Poor boy... he was a mess! He was very thin, barely had any coat, he desperately needed a dental, and he had a pendulous growth on his chest that needed removal. It has taken quite a few months, but this wonderful little gentleman is finally ready to find his forever home! We believe that Earl Grey is what is considered to be a black and tan dapple, Silky Wirehaired Dachshund. His charcoal and silver coat, which now is full and fluffy, is soft and not wiry. He is now at his perfect weight, about 15-lbs. We are guessing that he is about 12 years-old... since he came to us from Animal Control, we have no way of being certain. Even though Earl Grey is a senior, he's still a very active boy... he loves going for walks, and rides well in the car. We are looking for a family for Earl Grey who is active and will take him for walks and on new adventures. Since he rides so well, he would be a good companion for a family who likes to travel and will take along their canine buddy. Earl Grey gets along with everyone... other dogs (both big and small), adults, children, and he even gets along with the resident cat in his foster home. He even will wrestle and play with one of his foster buddies. A home with another dog, or one without, will be fine for Earl Grey, as long as he has human companionship... either someone who works from home or a young retiree, so Earl Grey can get plenty of TLC and won't be left alone during the day. Earl Grey is well housetrained and crate trained. He walks well on a leash and will even 'potty' while on a leash if not in a fenced area. A fenced yard would be preferable for him, but would not be necessary if his family will take him out on a regular schedule. Earl Grey is neutered, current on his Distemper/Parvo and Rabies vaccines, microchipped, had bloodwork done, tested negative for Heartworms, and is on heartworm prevention. He does have cataracts, so we took him to an ophthalmologist to look into surgery, but he felt that Earl Grey would not go blind, and should be treated with drops administered daily in both eyes. Earl Grey's adoption fee is $400.00. We accept checks or cash for adoption fees... sorry, we do not take cards. Earl Grey is a loving, active, and smart little boy who deserves only the best home and family! If you feel that Earl Grey would be a good match for your family, please submit an application by going to our website foreverhomek9rescue.org for an application and email the completed application to us at foreverhomek9rescue@yahoo.com. Story
Spoon is an extremely sweet boy, originally from New Orleans, Louisiana and now is a Charlotte boy. He is roughly 11 years old but is still extremely energetic and looks very young for his age! He loves visiting the dog park, going on long walks and sun bathing. Spoon **MUST live in a home with at least one other dog** - he has separation anxiety when living alone without another dog. I am looking for a new home for him with someone who can give him more attention and someone who has another dog in the family. He will be as adventurous or lazy as you want to be in any given day! He loves to burrow under blankets. He is great with kids, knows no stranger, and gets along well with cats. A recent allergy test showed that he is allergic to cats however we have lived with cats in the past with no problem.

Fish and Sarge both weigh 12 pounds and Oscar Meyer is just a bit bigger he weighs 16 pounds. The boys are mainly dachshund but we think they could be a little mixed with something else. These boys are very sweet but are a little shy with strangers and comes around quickly with trust so no small children. Whiskey has a high prey drive like most dachshunds so we dont think he will do well with cats.. Whiskey interacts well with other dogs around him in normal situations like at the dog park on a leash etc.    He just needs to be the only pet in his new home as he doesnt want to compete for attention. to adopt please fill out an application. 20.00 application fee applies  https://www.chapmansdox.com/adoptJanuary 23, 2025, 12:08 pm

Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 2/10/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Misty is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 2/26/25 Misty had a dental polishing. Misty is  Continental Kennel Club (CKC) registered. Weight: 11 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? Yes, Misty is an escape artist, and it will also provide her a safe place to play. What kind of home would be best for me?  As a breeder release, Misty is still learning about the world and needs some socialization. She's making great progress every day! She gets along well with all the dogs here, and it's important that she has a canine companion in her forever home. Having another dog will help her learn how to "be a dog" and grow into the loving pet we know she can become. Misty would do best in a home where someone is around most, if not all, of the time. Whether you're a single person, a couple, or a family, Misty will need patience, love, and understanding as she continues to grow. Misty loves being outside, so be prepared for some dirt and mud play; frequent baths or wet wipes will be necessary to keep her clean as playing in the dirt is her idea of fun. What is my personality like?  Meet Misty, a merle-colored Dachshund/Poodle mix registered with the Continental Kennel Club (CKC). Misty came to us as a breeder release and is now hoping to find her forever home. Misty is a happy, playful girl who gets along with all the dogs she meets. She needs another dog in the home to help her learn and grow into a loving companion. Misty does not walk well on a leash, so leash training will be important. She also doesn’t know basic commands yet, so her adopter will need to work with her daily to teach her the ropes. Misty is a smart, beautiful little dog with a big heart full of love that she will eventually share with her forever family. With your patience and gentle guidance, she’ll blossom into the loving companion she’s meant to be. If you can provide Misty with the loving and patient environment she needs to thrive, come meet her today. It won’t be long before she will be showering you with affection and bringing joy into your life. How do I act when I first meet new people?  Misty is curious about people but still a bit wary. If other dogs come to you for pets, Misty will likely approach, though she may shy away when you try to pet her. She has so much potential and just needs some time and patience to develop into a trusting, loving dog. Other tips and tidbits: Misty’s birthday is 4/23/2024. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. March 4, 2025, 3:54 pm
