Story
Rainy is a little low rider dachshund mix with a big personality! Though she was adopted once, she was sadly returned through no fault of her own. Rainy loves to rumble and tumble with other dogs, so she'd be happiest in a home with a well-matched canine companion to play with. She may take a bit of time to warm up to new people, but as long as you respect her space and process, she'll be asking for affection before you know it. If you're looking for a spunky companion with a heart of gold, Rainy is ready to find her forever home with you!

Story
Sadie is a 5 year old, 20 lb. Wire-haired Terrier/Dachshund mix. Sadie came to the rescue very timid and shy. In her former life she lived in a busy, active home with many other dogs, and it was just too much for this sweet, calm little lady. With patience and love, she has opened up in her foster home and is enjoying being doted on by her foster mom. She would love to find a family where she can live the quiet life and be your one and only. She would love to get all the attention and not have to share you since she is very timid and submissive around other animals. She has excellent house manners and can be left alone without a crate while her foster mom is gone. She is completely house-trained too! She likes to go on walks and is good on a leash, but she is much more of an indoorsy-type and prefers the couch life. If you are looking for a movie buddy to snuggle up with this winter, Sadie is your girl! You bring the blankets and hot cocoa, and she will bring the love! Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We provide transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!November 19, 2024, 5:56 pm

Story
Ramsay is an 8 year old Chiweenie that I adopted from a home with small children when he was 3. I was able to give him a good home for 5 years and made a lot of progress with him. Unfortunately my circumstances have changed and I need to find him a new home. Ramsay needs someone who can give him a lot of individual attention. He loves to be near his owner as much as possible, he will follow you everywhere if he can. He is a loyal and loving dog who likes to sit on your lap. He had issues with being touched when I adopted him, I believe due to the small children he lived with. He has completely transformed and now enjoys being pet just like any other dog. He will growl if he is uncomfortable with some touching, but he has never shown signs of being a biter. He gets along with other dogs for the most part, however, he can bark and get excited when seeing them initially. He has been a healthy and happy dog in my care and has not needed medical attention. Rabies up to date thru 2027.
