Please read ALL of this listing prior to asking questions. If you are interested in Beaux and feel that you would be a good match for her, you must first fill out an application here (please copy and paste the link): https://foreverhomek9rescue.org/adoption-application/ After we receive your application we will contact you... thank you! Beaux is a beautiful chocolate and tan, 9-year-old Dachshund who is ready for her forever home. She came to us paralyzed, but quickly regained use of her legs, and can now run and play to her heart's content! This little Doxie has some trouble being still. Even when she’s really tired, she still wants to keep going. And she absolutely LOVES to ride -- in a car, a boat, wheelbarrow, or backpack. As long as she isn't left in the house, she’s a happy little camper! Although Beaux does very well with the other dogs in her foster family, she is capable of entertaining herself and probably would do well without another canine companion, as long as she has human companionship. Beaux also LOVES children! Like most Dachshunds, she is highly intelligent... and a bit more mischievous than your average pup. Because of Beaux’s high energy level, she tries to go up and down stairs, hop off the furniture, etc. -- things that Dachshund's really aren't supposed to do. She would do best in a home with a fenced yard, so she can run and explore safely. Her foster home has a fenced yard with a doggie door. Her foster parents have not taught her to walk on a leash, which is one thing we're hoping her new family will be able and willing to do for her. Beaux is housetrained, but her back injury affected her bladder-control and at times she may dribble when she walks toward the door. She wears a doggie diaper most of the time in her foster home. Like most Dachshund's, Beaux has a great appetite! She enjoys carrots and other veggies… and she loves watermelon. She has a few favorite chew toys -- one of which is a golf ball! Beaux is healthy and isn't currently on any special medications other than a supplement for joint support. She is current on her Distemper/Parvo and Rabies vaccine and is spayed, microchipped, Heartworm tested, and had her teeth cleaned. She tested negative for Heartworms, and is on Heartguard for Heartworm prevention. Beaux's adoption fee is $400.00. We accept checks or cash for adoption fees... sorry, we do not take cards. Beaux is a loving, active, and smart little girl who deserves only the best home and family! If you feel that Beaux would be a good match for your family, please submit an application by going to our website foreverhomek9rescue.org for an application and email the completed application to us at foreverhomek9rescue@yahoo.com. Please read ALL of this listing prior to asking questions. If you are interested in Earl Grey and feel that you would be a good match for him, you must first fill out an application here (please copy and paste the link): https://foreverhomek9rescue.org/adoption-application/ After we receive your application we will contact you... thank you! Meet Earl Grey... our little wire coated Dachshund, who through no fault of his own is needing a forever home. Earl Grey came to us an an abandonment case from Animal Control. Poor boy... he was a mess! He was very thin, barely had any coat, he desperately needed a dental, and he had a pendulous growth on his chest that needed removal. It has taken quite a few months, but this wonderful little gentleman is finally ready to find his forever home! We believe that Earl Grey is what is considered to be a black and tan dapple, Silky Wirehaired Dachshund. His charcoal and silver coat, which now is full and fluffy, is soft and not wiry. He is now at his perfect weight, about 15-lbs. We are guessing that he is about 12 years-old... since he came to us from Animal Control, we have no way of being certain. Even though Earl Grey is a senior, he's still a very active boy... he loves going for walks, and rides well in the car. We are looking for a family for Earl Grey who is active and will take him for walks and on new adventures. Since he rides so well, he would be a good companion for a family who likes to travel and will take along their canine buddy. Earl Grey gets along with everyone... other dogs (both big and small), adults, children, and he even gets along with the resident cat in his foster home. He even will wrestle and play with one of his foster buddies. A home with another dog, or one without, will be fine for Earl Grey, as long as he has human companionship... either someone who works from home or a young retiree, so Earl Grey can get plenty of TLC and won't be left alone during the day. Earl Grey is well housetrained and crate trained. He walks well on a leash and will even 'potty' while on a leash if not in a fenced area. A fenced yard would be preferable for him, but would not be necessary if his family will take him out on a regular schedule. Earl Grey is neutered, current on his Distemper/Parvo and Rabies vaccines, microchipped, had bloodwork done, tested negative for Heartworms, and is on heartworm prevention. He does have cataracts, so we took him to an ophthalmologist to look into surgery, but he felt that Earl Grey would not go blind, and should be treated with drops administered daily in both eyes. Earl Grey's adoption fee is $400.00. We accept checks or cash for adoption fees... sorry, we do not take cards. Earl Grey is a loving, active, and smart little boy who deserves only the best home and family!
