Hello good people of the Northeast, my name is Pepper and I am a very sweet 8-year-old Dachshund mix now weighing 25 lbs. I had been living in Connecticut with my owner, but when she could no longer get around, I was stuck indoors with nothing to do but eat, sleep, snack, potty, repeat. It wasn't the best lifestyle for me and I blossomed up to about 35 lbs, but I was loved. Later on when she could no longer care for me a kindly neighbor brought me home to foster, and put me on a diet while helping me find a new forever home, and that is where you come in… I am ready to be adopted! I am a happy and friendly boy, with medium energy, not a couch potato any longer, good with people and other dogs, and I love doggy toys, especially the ones with crinkle sounds. No stuffing, please. I am affectionate, kissy, snuggly, and cuddly, and if you don't mind 25 lbs on your lap, then I’m a lap dog! I am well-behaved and rarely bark, at least until it's mealtime, and then I happily dance and hop and bark for joy when I see my food bowl coming. I don't dig in the yard or eat your things, and I'm housebroken on a schedule. I’ll go for a walk with some encouragement, and a few extra walks will help me maintain my newfound youthful physique. I’m not in love with being kept in a crate, but I will go in when asked. I’d rather be hanging out in my doggy bed or your bed would be even better, hint-hint! So, what do you think? I was taken in by 4 Little Paws, moved into a foster home, and have been having fun with all my new doggy friends ever since. I weigh 13 lbs and my foster mom says I’m friendly and playful with gobs of puppy energy, lively and spirited, and I make a fun playmate but I play rough. On the flip side of my personality, I’m a loveable lap dog who would gladly trade in playtime for some sit-on-the-sofa time snuggling with my people. I’m a happy pup, always wagging, very affectionate, love playing with dog toys, housebroken, good on a leash, and don’t mind a ride in the car.
