Story
Charming CHAMP is a middle-aged guy who likes mellow walks and quiet time with his human. He LOVES to snuggle and at 15 lbs he fits wonderfully in a lap. We estimate him to be a Dachshund / Terrier mix and about 7-9 years old. He would do best in a quiet household without children or other pets. Champ can be very protective of his people and home, so he would prefer to be your one and only - no other pets or children. Any interested applicants will need to come to the shelter to spend some time with him before adoption to understand his behaviors and how to best support him to have a happy home. The volunteers at ARF love him to bits and know he will be a wonderful buddy for the right person!

This little pretty chocolate dappled girl is called Maizie and goodness what a cracker jack she is.  Don’t for minute let those green eyes and chocolate marbled coat fool you to think she is gentle or easy.  She is the CEO of dogs and will run the show at your house if given the chance.  Maizie is 30 pounds and 9 months old.  She is a breed mix of Dachshund and Basset Hound we are told.  Her pics make her look big but she is a “tiny but mighty” little girl.  Mazie is not a fan of any other female dogs in her life or around her.  We don’t know where that came from but the dislike is there so we say…don’t ignore the warning.  She is great with big male dogs, not good with other small dogs or cats, but loves people deeply and wants to be around them.  She needs a fenced yard because she is a runner as most Dachshunds can be and she needs to be able to run and play and get her energy out daily.  Older children would be better for her and she is crate trained, 90% housebroken and she adores going for walks; a very good girl on a leash we can say.  She is beautiful but a “tad” bit complicated, which is why we have outlined the Likes and Dislikes of this girl to a TEE!  We want the right and perfect home and there are lots out there that can give her that.  Tiny but Mighty little Maizie is ready for a home NOW!  Please email us at Critter Cavalry Rescue : ccrnewengland@gmail.com  Tell us where you live when you email asking for information and an application. Story
The owner of Arlo, Lainey and 4 other akc registered doxies was living in a rental home with 4 children and the landlord said the dogs had to go. Her mom took them while she was supposed to find another place to live but that did not happen. Her mom had 3 dogs of her own and was overwhelmed so she asked for help. All the dogs are sweet but we took Arlo and Lainey. These two are quite bonded so we are going to try to place them together. They are both spay/neutered, UTD on vaccines and HW negative, They will also be microchipped. In their original home, they were left on a self feeder and I am afraid Arlo overindulged but Lainey was able to keep her figure. They are both so so sweet and cute! They both Love cuddles and kisses! They both seem to be reliably housetrained. Arlo is a red pie bald and Lainey is a black and tan wirehaired doxie. Lainey was born on 9/10/2021 so she is 3 years old, Arlo is 4. Hudson is a handsome loving 4yr old purebred standard size 24.9 lbs dachshund. He unfortunately has littermate syndrome that is only focused at his twin. He gets along fine with his younger brother and has been great with our grandchildren. It pains us to give him up ,but he deserves a better life than we can provide with his twin.
