Hi everyone!  My foster mom calls me The Zues Mann. I am a 10 yr old dachshund but don’t let my age fool you. I like to run and play in my fenced in backyard and chew on any toys that squeak. I get along with other dogs, cats and kids. I love to give you a hug, and to snuggle. My favorite thing is to curl up next to my human under a blanket like a bug in a rug, whether it be in front of the TV or in bed at night.  I am housebroken (however I just got neutered so I wear a belly band right now to keep me from marking). I know my basic commands and I walk good on the leash. I do okay in the car but I am not fond of the crate.  I am totally vetted now and am looking for my furever family to love on and cuddle with. My foster mom says I am such a good boy and such a lover. Someone going to get a great cuddler and the best buddy.  That makes me feel so special.  Will it be you?? We are Flynn and Rider! Like thieves in the night we'll steal your heart. Flynn and Rider are absolutely gorgeous and active puppies looking for forever homes to call their own. Flynn is a bit more reserved than Rider but he still loves to go play. He'll come sit by your feet and take in the world around him or he'll try to scamper up on your lap to show you rocks he's found. He loves being up high to get scratchies and watch his brother. Rider is the adventurer, he enjoys sniffing through the grass and pouncing grasshoppers. He likes to get the big dog toys to drag around the yard and have his brother chase him. Rider sits patiently waiting for his turn to get scratchies on your lap. He's so adorable! He's fearless until big trucks rumble by then you'll find him behind your chair! Don't get Tangled in our cute-pie puppy eyes! Flynn's blazing a new trail in life, had Parvo and they were unsure if he was gonna make it. Now he's recovered and making the most of life! Rider was a good support pup, always peeking in on Flynn while he was sick wondering when he could wrestle again. Otherwise he was bolting around causing a ruckus as puppies do checking out everything and ducking under anything. Gotta put a bell on this boy! These pups have healthy appetites but will stop when full, graze later after activities. Their mom has short legs, longer body, pointy ears, narrow face, and a beautiful redish brindle coat. Might be corgi/dachshund mixes or be energetic little terrier dogs. They have cute little legs and look like they waddle from behind! Both like to play, run, and carry things around. They are really good at hustling from their room to door to go outside with "lets go, let's go, hurry, hurry, all the way to the door." Then once out the door "all the way to the gate... no pee pee in the walk way." Then "hurry hurry all the way back to go potty." They bound around in a scurry watching me for praise at their good efforts! Eager to learn, observant, smart. Will walk on leashes together but criss cross a bit so will need individual leash training. They are a little timid with new things in general so slow introductions would be helpful as they learn. They are young and going through a chewing stage so age appropriate chew toys a plus. Have experience with dogs their size. Very timid with big dogs. No experience with cats or children so please introduce them slowly. Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $500 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Please visit leiashope.org for our adoption process. Located in Troy, MO Alfred is a squirmy puppy and like a slinky he is hard to keep in your hands. He is wiggling to get down and go explore and play! Alfred came from a puppy mill and he is a little scared. He was not properly socialized in the mill so he will need someone to work on building his confidence and slowly introducing him to new things. Alfred doesn't like to be left alone, so someone who is home a lot or has another dog will help him. Alfred is a typical puppy with lots of energy and will need someone who can keep up with him. Alfred came into rescue with Giardia, a common parasite found in puppy mills. It is easy to treat and he will go home with any remaining meds he has. Alfred's adoption fee is $500. He is microchipped, current on age appropriate vaccines and on monthly heart worm prevention. He has not been neutered due to his young age (we spay/neuter at 6 months). A spay/neuter contract is required. Next steps can be found at leiashope.org. PLEASE NOTE: We are a volunteer ran rescue with full time jobs. Please allow 7-10 days for application processing. All of our dogs are in foster homes and a meet and greet is done ONLY after an approved application. We do adopt out of the area. However, we do not ship or provide transportation. Roman is currently enrolled in the 12 week Puppies 4 Parole program through the Mo Department of Corrections.  He will graduate around March 5th and will be available for adoption at that time.  If you are interested in adopting Roman, please complete an application and the foster parent will contact you. Roman (Romy) is a 1yr. old male Bassett mix. He is full of curiosity and energy. He loves to cuddle and he even “talks” sometimes. He can be amusing at times especially when he trips over his chunky front paws. Roman is about 30-35 Ibs. He enjoys all types of squeaky toys and is learning to fetch.  He has made himself quite at home and has made friends with our dog. He doesn’t discriminate when it comes to playmates. He’s been around large and small dogs and a cat. He is learning to walk on a leash and is getting better everyday. He doesn’t require a fenced yard. He loves his chew toys but needs to have access to plenty of them or he might chew a cord or shoe. Roman is not crate trained but is housebroken. He will whine at the door when he needs to go out. Roman loves to eat and has been caught attempting to “counter surf”. All in all, Roman is a complete sweetheart and will be a happy addition to his forever home. Meet Speedo! At 5 months old, Speedo weighs 30 pounds. We are guessing he will end up being around 40-45 pounds. He is sweet, smart, energetic, curious, and fearless. We haven't found anything he is afraid of! Speedo has the cutest curled-up tail and beautiful white and brindle markings. He can entertain himself by playing with his toys, but he also loves all dogs and people. He is potty trained and uses a doggie door at his foster home. He is quick to learn commands. He already knows come, sit, down, wait, no, off, and leave it. He quietly sleeps in his pen at night. Speedo is a typical puppy with lots of energy, usually followed by a nap). He would love a fenced-in backyard and another dog to play with. Cuddling with this little guy just makes your heart melt. We believe Speedo's mom is a Bassett hound mix weighing just 22 pounds, and we have photos of her. This cute and funny little guy is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on shots and preventatives.
