Story
DOB: 9/4/14                                Weight: 9pds Lbs Adoption Fee: $175 includes 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness. Martina was surrendered by her family because they could no longer care for her.  From her foster Mom: She is the sweetest little girl. All she wants out of life is cuddles and food--in that order:) She is great with them all She grumps if someone tries to hone in on her cuddle spot but it only to let them know that is not allowed, not a threat. She is mostly house broken but is pottypad trained. Martina was suspected of having  Cushing's late last fall but was never tested. Her previous owner had her on medicine for Cushing's for several months but stopped giving it to her this past spring, we are guessing it was due to cost.  When Martina was returned we had her tested to verify that she had Cushing's, and she does. With a little google research we found that there is a generic of the Cushing's medicine that runs 1/4 of the cost as the name brand.  Her meds will run about $40 a month for the rest of her life.  Martina has been spay, wormed, microchipped, and vaccinated. If you are interested in meeting/adopting her just fill out a application at www.furrykidsrefuge.org, click on the 'Adopt A Dog' icon and a dedicated volunteer will be in touch.  Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support!
