Story
Can anyone resist this guy?? Meet Butter, a charming 16-pound piebald dachshund with a stunning coat of white, black, and tan. At around 4 years old, Butter is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped & on preventative. He recently had a dental cleaning. His silky-soft fur is simply irresistible! Butter loves to snuggle and is happiest when he can curl up across your lap for a cozy nap. He adores his people and follows them from room to room, showing just how much he enjoys being close. When left alone, he can get a bit upset but will settle down. He is crate trained. Butter is also a great car companion. Walking around the neighborhood is one of Butter’s favorite activities. He thrives when he can join a group of dogs, sniffing around and watching squirrels. He is prey driven & will chase after things so he MUST be kept on leash at all times or in a secure fenced in yard when off leash. Due to a sensitive stomach, Butter eats only Hill's Prescription Diet I/D small bites in chicken flavor. He loves his food & has no trouble finishing his meals. Butter does see the resident cats and barks at them. He seems a little too interested in them so we are working on this!! He is a total love bag & will make someone or a family a great addition. Please apply for Butter at coaldr.org if you are interested in adopting him. His fee is $500

Story
Hello! My name is Boone, and I am the goodest boy! The foster lady calls me “King of Chaos”, whatever that means, because I like to chew stuff. But I’m a puppy so what do you expect? I’m looking for someone other than this lady to give me a home so I can have stuff to destroy as much as I want. Oh, and a fenced yard to play in, and another active canine friend would be awesomeness, too! If you have all those cool things, I’d love to be your goodest boy forever and ever and always. Foster mom says I am going to be neutered on the 24th (don’t know what that is but it sounds like trouble to me), and then I will be ready to find my forever goodest boy home! Boone is fostered in Smithfield, VA.

Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: YesGood with cats: Unknown, likely yesGood with kids: YesCrate trained: YesHouse Trained: MostlyMax is a curious little cuddle bug that loves to explore the great outdoors. He loves checking out his surroundings and once his snooter picks up a scent, it’s nose to the ground to sniff all around. Handsome and smart, this little whippersnapper will charm you from the very start.Always happy-go-lucky, Max gets along famously with other dogs - plays nicely and is considerate of cues. He’s great with kids, too, soaking up every drop of attention he gets from them. A home with either - or both – is his idea of paradise! It’s worth noting that he takes great pleasure in chasing rabbits, so caution is recommended with cats as he does seem to give into his prey-drive instincts.Max knows his way around a crate and leash. Potty-training is going very well with plenty of walks throughout the day to ensure continued success. It helps this guy is a quick leaner, making any additional training a fun and rewarding bonding experience.Max is enthusiastic to meet his forever family and be the best fur-buddy!Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website. If you cannot find a particular dog on our website, he/she may be on a temporary foster hold. All dogs are otherwise posted until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application.November 4, 2024, 12:24 am

Story
This handsome pup is Biff! He’s an adult low rider that lives to hang with his people! Biff is a designer mix breed pup. We think there’s a splash of Dachshund, a pinch of Hound, dash of Lab, a touch of Pittie, and a sprinkling of Mr Nice Pup.  Biff is excited for life and happy to be here. He’s a true joy to be around.  Biff knows his manners and would appreciate a confident owner willing to continue to help guide him. When first meeting people, Biff can be a little nervous but after a proper introduction, he makes fast friends. He’d love to hang out at breweries, go on hikes, or just enjoys leisurely stroll with his new family. Biff has spent some time with a professional trainer and did very well there! He learned the basics and his trainer will be happy to review everything Biff learned with his new family.
Biff would be a great addition to a home that already has a calm and confident dog.  He’s great with kids and currently had 2 legged family members that are between the ages of 8 & 21. If you'd like to make this handsome pup part of your family, please let us know here: dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form. We'll forward the app to his foster who will reach out to answer any questions, share pictures, and talk all things Biff. ================================================= If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED.
