Story
Freya is ready to become the newest member of your family. At approximately 10 weeks old and under five pounds, this adorable black and white mixed-breed puppy (likely Dachshund/Chihuahua/Beagle mix) has already shown incredible strength and resilience. She is expected to remain small, growing to an estimated 10-20 pounds, making her the perfect lap companion. Despite a rough start involving starvation and neglect, Freya has bounced back with astonishing fortitude. Now healthy and full of puppy exuberance, she is a "little whirlwind of fun" who embraces every moment with boundless energy and joy. Freya is a smart, responsive, and incredibly affectionate puppy. She brings a complete faith and trusting nature to her interactions, adoring toys, mealtimes, and all things interactive. Her energetic, outgoing personality promises endless entertainment and unwavering companionship. Her adoption fee covers her puppy shots (including rabies), dewormings, and her future spay procedure when she reaches six months old. Hedgesville Hounds would love to see Freya in a home with a securely fenced yard where she can play safely. Due to her small stature and typical puppy mouthing, we are less inclined to place her with small children or large dogs, but we carefully evaluate every application individually to find her the perfect match. Bring this intelligent, trusting, and fun-loving bundle of joy into your life and experience the rewarding love only a rescue puppy like Freya can provide. If you are interested in adopting Freya, please complete our nonbinding application: click here to send a non-binding application

Story
Name: Monkey Sex: Female Estimated Age: About 9 years old Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua/Dachshund Mix Weight: About 15 lbs Lives With: Dogs, cats and all people (including kids)! Housebroken? She’s potty trained! Story: Monkey was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina. We are so happy to have her safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Monkey is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Monkey is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Monkey will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! What my foster says: Monkey is just the sweetest. She’s potty trained and hasn't had any accidents in the apartment. She's done great with other dogs as well as cats at her temporary foster (!!). Monkey's favorite thing is belly rubs and meal times! Monkey doesn't need any fancy outdoor area (she’d be a great apartment dog), just your love, attention, and the occasional stroll around the neighborhood. Don't let her gray face fool you, though! Monkey has her bouts of energy where she still gets those zoomies and wants to play catch with her favorite mouse toy. She's also content with just sleeping and watching over what you're doing, and she's done fantastic alone as well at home whenever I run errands or am out with friends. My favorite thing about her is that she'll get under the covers and snuggle there the whole night, so if you ever wanted your own personal, soft heater, you'll find it in her. Just in time for the cold season ahead!  The fee to adopt Monkey is $350. That covers the cost of all her vaccines, her spay, the collar she’s wearing, her transport to DC and her care in her foster home. She’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. If you think that Monkey might be your perfect match, apply today!       October 27, 2025, 1:38 pm

Story
Please contact Diane Pedulla (dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.elongated sweetie ISO fresh start and love! MARLOWE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Marlowe       Best Guess for Breed:   Dachshund and terrier mix     Best Guess for Age: 4 years as of December 2025        SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight: 15 lbs as of 12/2/25 -he is emaciated at this weight.    Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus - needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here!   Special adoption considerations: Marlowe is a truly Lucky Dog. He tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left!   Marlowe is Looking For:  His forever family, with humans who love him and care for him properly. He was emaciated when he came in, had whipworms, and was heartworm positive. Despite that he has been nothing but friendly and open and loving. He's in his prime as a young adult dog and has so much to see and do. Sniffy walks, romps in parks, all the adventures his family can dream up - yes, please! Making pup and people pals along the way would be great too.   But - what he wants most of all is to be safe and loved, to know where he belongs. What do you say? Is that with you?   What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once he has spent time in foster care.    Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life!  Please visit us online at    www.luckydoganimalrescue.org   .    BE A FOSTER!!!    Fosters make it possible for Lucky Dog Animal Rescue to save and care for homeless and abandoned dogs!  To learn about fostering, please contact    fostering@luckydoganimalrescue.org   ! ❗ Current Location: in a foster home in South Korea❗ Meet Lylla :) • She rides so well that if you open the car door she gets in by herself, and she doesn't get car sick at all. If you like traveling she would make a really good buddy! • She loves playing with other dogs, running in the park, cuddles, kisses, sleeping with you, walks, hikes, and delicious food (fruit, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, cheese, meat) and treats! • Personality: She is affectionate, full of energy, loves to have fun, and adapts well to new things. She likes both people and dogs and cats (she'll play with them). She also loves to play in the park or the mountains. When she's excited, she'll purr to show her excitement. She loves to be held - she wants to fall asleep with you in your arms. She's the best dog ever!

APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. CLEO is a Basset Hound mix. We don’t know what the mix is. She is 36#, 16 mos old (est. DOB 2/15/25), and is just as sweet as can be. She is very outgoing, happy, and loves attention. She, along with her two daughters, Carob & Cameo, were found in a parking area close to a storage business along with several other dogs. These 3 were happy and friendly and went running up to my foster…one even jumped in the car! Cleo was in season and Carob was obviously pregnant…dogs running the street when the owners should have taken the responsibility to take care of them. All 3 dogs are lucky…my foster found them and asked to bring them to our ranch. Carob is due to have her pups any day and Cleo & Cameo are vaccinated, spayed, and eating good. Now all they need is a forever home and that’s where you come in. Please give these wonderful dogs a chance. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. Story
Bucky is an irresistibly sweet Basset Hound puppy, best known for his legendary droopy ears. They’re long, velvety, and seem to have a mind of their own—flopping as he walks and framing his soulful eyes perfectly. Those ears don’t just make him adorable; they give him that classic Basset charm that melts hearts instantly. Bucky is gentle, curious, and loves to explore the world nose-first, with his ears often sweeping along behind him like fuzzy capes. He enjoys belly rubs, puppy playtime, and long, cozy naps where his ears become the perfect built-in blanket. He’s still learning his puppy manners and will do best in a loving home ready to guide him as he grows. Bucky would make a wonderful companion for anyone who appreciates a laid-back pup, a loyal friend, and a daily dose of ear-flopping joy. If you’ve ever dreamed of a puppy whose ears arrive before he does, Bucky is ready to listen—literally. The adoption fee for this puppy is $475, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. A $250 spay/neuter deposit is required at time of adoption. This fee covers spay/neuter at one of PetConnect's preferred veterinary partners. If the adopter chooses to use their own veterinarian, the deposit will be returned with proof of sterilization. Petconnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system. For more information, please email msmith@@petconnectrescue.org **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.petconnectrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**
