Story
This little pretty chocolate dappled girl is called Mazie and goodness what a cracker jack she is.  Don’t for minute let those green eyes and chocolate marbled coat fool you to think she is gentle or easy.  She is the CEO of dogs and will run the show at your house if given the chance.  Mazie is 30 pounds and 9 months old.  She is a breed mix of Dachshund and Basset Hound we are told.  Her pics make her look big but she is a “tiny but mighty” little girl.  Mazie is not a fan of any other female dogs in her life or around her.  We don’t know where that came from but the dislike is there so we say…don’t ignore the warning.  She is great with big male dogs, not good with other small dogs or cats, but loves people deeply and wants to be around them.  She needs a fenced yard because she is a runner as most Dachshunds can be and she needs to be able to run and play and get her energy out daily.  Older children would be better for her and she is crate trained, 90% housebroken and she adores going for walks; a very good girl on a leash we can say.  She is beautiful but a “tad” bit complicated, which is why we have outlined the Likes and Dislikes of this girl to a TEE!  We want the right and perfect home and there are lots out there that can give her that.  Tiny but Mighty little Mazie is ready for a home NOW!  Please email us at Critter Cavalry Rescue : ccrnewengland@gmail.com  Tell us where you live when you email asking for information and an application. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
This adorable girl definitely has a before and after story and Critter Cavalry is so excited to be part of a great future and a change in her life. Her name is Gidget and she's a 2-year-old 34 lb Doodle mix girl that was running as a stray for some time in a very rural County of Tennessee. She was finally caught and trembled as she sat in her kennel run at the small shelter. They knew she would never improve if she stayed in that kennel waiting for someone to find her so a kind groomer with a rescue heart was notified.  This girl was an emergency emotionally and physically and needed to get her cleaned up and shaved down and leave the shelter.  Soon, she was smiling and feeling like a new dog!  The before and after pictures are amazing aren't they?  She has a lot of energy and would do best with a dog that can hold his own with her.  She is going to be a victory  story of redemption. Would you like to be a part of that story and write her future in your book of life?  You will certainly make a difference and define your intention to rescue dramatically by adopting this girl Gidget.  Please contact Critter Cavalry rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and let us know where you live as you inquire. She's located in Tennessee but is able to transport northward on a weekend transportation.  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 18, 2024, 6:08 pm

Story
Please contact Caitlin Finn (caitlin.finn@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Cute pup looking for a forever home! HERMOINE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!   Come meet Hermoine and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (12/22/2024) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Silver Spring (12020 Cherry Hill Road, Silver Spring, MD 20904)!   Name: Hermoine         Best Guess for Breed: Dachshund/Chihuahua mix  Best Guess for Age:   1.5 years         SEX:    female   Approximate Weight:  11lbs   Gets Along With:   Other dogs! We have tested Hermoine with some of the cats at the shelter, and she did not seem particularly interested in chasing or pouncing on the cat. While this is a positive sign that Hermoine could live with a cat, she has not done so to our knowledge. If you have cats in your home, we are happy to discuss with you how to best introduce a new pup to your pack!    Currently Living at:   DC area foster home - she needs to find her forever home!   Special Adoption Considerations:  Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. Because Hermoine is shy, she needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog. We would be cautious placing Hermoine in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare shy dogs with their level of energy or noise.  Children would need to be supervised closely to not leave doors open and should never walk the dog without an adult holding the leash.  We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant.     Hermoine is Looking For:  Her forever home!  She's now looking for her own humans so she can transfer all that love and affection to them! Hermoine is a young girl who hasn't seen enough of the world and is eager to explore it alongside her humans with all the confidence of a well-loved dog. What she wants most of all is to know she's safe and loved and under her own roof. What do you say? Is this small, pretty girl the companion you have been seeking? What My Foster Says About Me:  Hermoine is a very quiet, timid, laid back dog. She’s very sweet and sleeps quietly throughout the night without a peep so far. She hasn’t had an accident inside the house - and she LOVES her crate. She eats well and is very gentle when taking treats. She will be a great addition to a patient family committed to helping her build her confidence. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament. Story
I'm seeking a new family for Luke, a kind and smart 6-year-old doxipoo. We live in Rockville, MD. Luke is hypoallergenic, up-to-date on shots, and has a dachshund personality with poodle intelligence. He's not neutered and dislikes big dogs, but likes kids. Luke has been with us since birth, but needs a new family to love him. We'd like occasional visits. Please respond only if you're committed to caring for him. Thanks, Ovi.

I'm a young, spunky gal who loves to play. I get along great with other dogs and I'm always up for a game of fetch or tug-of-war. I'm friendly and sweet, and I love to give kisses and cuddle up close. My ideal day would be a nice walk, some playtime, and lots of belly rubs. I'm full of love and energy and I can't wait to share it with a family of my own. I did find out that I am heartworm positive, but with treatment provided by K-9 Lifesavers, I will be good as new in no time. Adopting me means gaining a loyal, loving companion who will always be there to brighten your day. Fill out an application today and let's make some wonderful memories together! To learn more about heartworm please visit: https://www.webmd.com/pets/dogs/features/heartworms-in-dogs-facts-and-mythsYour new pet will require a refresher in house-training.
