We are Flynn and Rider! Like thieves in the night we'll steal your heart. Flynn and Rider are absolutely gorgeous and active puppies looking for forever homes to finally call their own. Flynn is a bit more reserved than his brother but he still loves to go play. He'll come sit by your feet or even show you rocks he's found. He loves to snuggle and can be a bit quirky sometimes! Don't get Tangled in our cute-pie puppy eyes! Flynn's blazing a new trail of life, had Parvo and they were unsure if he was gonna make it. Now he's recovered and making the most of life! These pups have healthy appetites and will stop when full. Will graze later after activities. Their mom has short legs and longer body, pointy ears, narrow face. Might be corgi/dachshund mixes and be energetic little terrier dogs. They have cute, little, wobbly legs. Like to play, run, really good at getting them outside, commands to get them outside, go pee command. Eager to learn, observant, smart. Will need leash training most likely. Will walk on leash, don't pull, but are going through a chewing stage. Not a lot of experience with other dogs. Interested in playing with other dogs, look through door to see the other dogs. No experience with cats or children so please introduce them slowly. She currently weighs 20#s and we expect she may get up to 22-24# maximum. She is fun and very happy. She loves playing with the other dogs and leaves my cats alone. She loves to lick…her way of giving affection. She is almost house trained… working on it. She walks on the leash and stays quiet in the kennel. She loves playing with toys and her favorite is an empty water bottle that crackles and makes a lot of noise. She will be good for a family… with older children. Hi, it’s nice to meet you, I’m LeBron, a 3 year old, 17 lb., dachshund/chi mix. I don’t remember much about my former life, but I’m glad to be with A Home of Their Own Animal Rescue to find my forever home. I’m a little shy around new people given all the changes I’ve been through. I’ve been in a couple of foster homes before, and I discovered that I feel more comfortable around adults and older children. Younger children scare me with their quick, sometimes unpredictable movements. I am looking for a forever home that is quiet, patient and loving. I am housetrained so that's a plus! I like crates because they feel so cozy and safe. That said, I may need some coaxing in the beginning to get out of my crate and into the world. Like LeBron James, I jump up high in the sky and am very high energy so will do best in a home with people that are active and can give me plenty of exercise and enrichment! That's why my foster dad named me LeBron! Also, a home with people that are home often would be nice too because I tend to get attached to my people. They make me feel safe! I'm still working on being protective of my people. I try to remember that no one is going to take them from me but it's definitely a work in progress. I know I will grow used to being around new faces; I just need people that will be patient with me so I can learn to feel safe and secure in this world. This little pretty chocolate dappled girl is called Mazie and goodness what a cracker jack she is. Don’t for minute let those green eyes and chocolate marbled coat fool you to think she is gentle or easy. She is the CEO of dogs and will run the show at your house if given the chance. Mazie is 30 pounds and 9 months old. She is a breed mix of Dachshund and Basset Hound we are told. Her pics make her look big but she is a “tiny but mighty” little girl. Mazie is not a fan of any other female dogs in her life or around her. We don’t know where that came from but the dislike is there so we say…don’t ignore the warning. She is great with big male dogs, not good with other small dogs or cats, but loves people deeply and wants to be around them. She needs a fenced yard because she is a runner as most Dachshunds can be and she needs to be able to run and play and get her energy out daily. Older children would be better for her and she is crate trained, 90% housebroken and she adores going for walks; a very good girl on a leash we can say. She is beautiful but a “tad” bit complicated, which is why we have outlined the Likes and Dislikes of this girl to a TEE! Meet sweet BILLY (aka Oscar weiner dog) who just arrived! Billy is a handsome 3 year old, 21 pound, reddish brown dachshund mix. His foster reports that he is a DREAM! He hasn't had an accident or tried to chew anything, and sleeps through the night in his crate without a peep. Loves a good snuggle on the couch with his humans. He's a gentle playmate with the larger resident dog. Loves to go for walks and is happy to meet anyone that he comes across Poor Billy was surrendered to a rural North Carolina vet office after he was attacked by another dog roaming in a trailer park in this county. The vet treated him for extensive injuries, which have all healed, and reached out for help in getting this very sweet and friendly dog into rescue. With the offer from a great foster home, PetConnect was able to come to his rescue and bring him to the DC area to find his new home that will adore him furever. While he was a country boy, he seems to adapt well to any new environment and thus would seem to be fine in the city or country as well as a home or an apartment. In the comfort of his foster home, he has already learned how good it can be to get belly rubs and cuddle! He likes to go for walks, is a great size, with an adorable very expressive face and eyes. Billy would be a great companion to curl up at your feet on a cool fall evening. ***Please note that the first step is to fill out an application (It does not commit you in anyway but allows us to discuss with you if you and the dog are a good fit). When Irish eyes are smiling, does that mean they are happy? Or maybe they had too many pints at the pub? My eyes are smiling, and I am a non drinker, just want to have full disclosure here! Even though my eyes were smiling in these pictures. I was desperate for help for my little one, Lewis. You see, he was dying...full of internal and external parasites he really had no fight left in him and I knew it as his mother... so I used my Irish eyes to get us saved. AND IT WORKED!! Our lives are do amazing now, Lewis is alive and well after some very intense care, and ADOPTED INTO AN AMAZING HOME!!! I am not ever producing more babies, so it is all good! Now I get my turn for love, comfort and safety and a FOREVER HOME!! I am an adorable girl, about 50# of low-rider basset/heeler-ness. I am great with other dogs and like to play keep away!
