BLACKBERRY is a sweet-as-pie little mixed breed girl looking for a home. She's about 5 years old and fully grown at 17 pounds, although she could stand to gain a pound or two. Our best guess on breed mix is a chiweenie (chihuahua/dachshund) and Boston terrier mix. She has a Boston terrier face and a long and low little body. Blackberry is a little charmer, stealing the hearts of everyone she meets. She's a sweet low key girl who loves a good cuddle. Blackberry is housebroken, crate trained and good with other dogs and cats. Blackberry does require monthly medication. Our vet detected a heart murmur, likely due to a congenital defect, during Blackberry's exam. She should manage a long happy life provided her adopter keeps her on her meds. The monthly cost of her medication is around $45-$50. If you'd like to meet Blackberry, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Blackberry at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention. Buu Buu is a 1-year-old, small mixed breed who is sweet as can be. He weighs approximately 25 pounds. Buu Buu didn’t get a real great start to life. He was rescued with his sister Molly from a very inhabitable environment and has been so scared but is starting to open up to being free. He is so sweet. He just follows you around like a little shadow. He loves to cuddle and be a part of whatever is going on. He’s good on a leash, good with other dogs (no cats) and is working on crate and potty training. He just wants his forever lap to lay in. Does yours have room? Bandit is a mini tricolor smooth coat dachshund with ticking. He came to the rescue with five other mini dachshunds after his elderly owner died. He is a really sweet boy but tends to be a little skittish. He needs a person with patience and time to gain his trust and would do well with another dog to follow. Our rescue organization adopts within the following states: Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana and Missouri. A fully fenced yard is required to be considered for adoption (no underground fencing). JUNIOR is the typical dachshund...he loves to eat...his owner, is currently in the hospital and has no family to care for Junior...so he was boarded at the vets office . The owner has to have surgery with extended care so he has decided though he loves Junior a lot , its best to find him a permanent home. Junior is 4 yrs old...He is up to date on all vaccines too and is very happy and socialized. Currently in foster care with other dachshunds and is ready for a home of his own. He is a bit overweight at 19 lb.
