This dog's adoption fee is $450. If you are still interested, please read more below. Double Stuff Oreo is a black and white, long haired dachshund. She has lived her life as a puppy mill mama. She was double stuffed at 16 pounds but with good food, and a yard to explore and run around in, she is doing good. ARF's vets estimate her to be about 6 years of age. When we first picked her up we were told she might be 8, so we are calling her 7. She has a super sweet, affectionate personality. She is very submissive and loves a good belly rub. Her foster is working on housetraining for the first time in this sweet girl's life. She is doing pretty good as long as her foster mom keeps to the schedule. She is super social with other dogs and ignores the cats in her foster home. She is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations and spayed. This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing. A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today! The owner of Arlo, Lainey and 4 other akc registered doxies was living in a rental home with 4 children and the landlord said the dogs had to go. Her mom took them while she was supposed to find another place to live but that did not happen. Her mom had 3 dogs of her own and was overwhelmed so she asked for help. All the dogs are sweet but we took Arlo and Lainey. These two are quite bonded so we are going to try to place them together. They are both spay/neutered, UTD on vaccines and HW negative, They will also be microchipped. In their original home, they were left on a self feeder and I am afraid Arlo overindulged. He needs a home where they will go for walks and watch their diets. but he is so so sweet and cute! Loves cuddles and kisses! They both seem to be reliably housetrained. Arlo is a red pie bald and Lainey is a black and tan wirehaired doxie. Arlo was born on 8/13/2020 so he is 4 years old, Lainey is 3. Story

Coco is a 6 year old dachshund mix, who we rescued in May 2021. Coco is spayed and up to date on all vaccines and has no known medical conditions. Coco is a very kind and gentle dog, who loves cuddling and spending time outside. Coco is house and crate trained and does well in cars. She enjoys fetch with her toys and being around us and would be a great companion in the perfect home. Coco gets anxious around other dogs, and has shown signs of aggression towards dogs that are her size or smaller, but has been OK with larger adult dogs. She will bark and pull on walks when she sees other dogs, so a fenced in yard is a plus. Coco does not do well with young children, which is why we are rehoming her. We have a 2 year old child, and Coco became very anxious and uncomfortable when she began to walk. We had an incident where Coco knocked our daughter down unprovoked, resulting in her being hurt. Coco has been OK with older kids but needs a home with no young children or small dogs

Story

Dexter is a 10+ year dachshund. He was found as a stray and nobody came to claim him. He is good with other dogs and people. He is good with kids, but because he is a small dog he shouldn't go to a home with kids under 4 years old. He is not housetrained, so he has been wearing a belly band while in the house. Dexter doesn't go potty very often during the day. When he is taken outside, he will go back and forth between the yard and the door to come in. He will do this behavior multiple times and sometimes he will finally go potty, but not always, and of course the cold weather doesn't help. He might have been trained to go on potty pads in his past life, but we are working on changing this behavior. I don't think he was neglected in his past, because he is definitely a little chunky for a dachshund. He just had a dental and had many teeth removed and he also a fatty polyp removed from his chest. He is a sweet little guy and just needs a place to live out his senior years. He doesn't do stairs well, so a home with little to no stairs would be best. At night he sleeps with his belly band on and usually snuggled up against one of the other dogs in the home. Dexter is neutered and up to date on shots.
