❗ Current Location: in a foster home in South Korea❗ Meet Lylla :) • She rides so well that if you open the car door she gets in by herself, and she doesn't get car sick at all. If you like traveling she would make a really good buddy! • She loves playing with other dogs, running in the park, cuddles, kisses, sleeping with you, walks, hikes, and delicious food (fruit, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, cheese, meat) and treats! • Personality: She is affectionate, full of energy, loves to have fun, and adapts well to new things. She likes both people and dogs and cats (she'll play with them). She also loves to play in the park or the mountains. When she's excited, she'll purr to show her excitement. She loves to be held - she wants to fall asleep with you in your arms. She's the best dog ever!

Story
Meet Sparky!  Sparky was part of the group of seniors that came to us several weeks ago after their human mom passed away and their human dad was forced to leave the family home - leaving no where for these poor babies to go. Since they technically would have been considered owner surrenders in a county with an extremely small shelter, they would have been euthanized immediately if a rescue didn’t step up to help them.  Sparky is about 12 years old with lots of life left to live! He’s obviously great with other dogs since he lived as part of a pack for most of his life, but he’s also adjusted quite nicely to being the King of the Castle in his foster home! He would love to join a quiet, dachshund loving home so that he can thoroughly enjoy his retirement!!  Does that sound like you? Email adrienne@rescuemega.org or fill out an adoption application on our website- www.rmgdogs.org ##2161174##

Story
Meet Lucy! Lucy was part of the group of seniors that came to us in early July after their human mom passed away and their human dad was forced to leave the family home - leaving no where for these poor babies to go. Since they technically would have been considered owner surrenders in a county with an extremely small shelter, they would have been euthanized immediately if a rescue didn’t step up to help them.   We think Lucy 8-9 years old and when she first came to us she was the grumbly one. NOW she’s a total love bug or love-butterfly! She’s lost 5 pounds and though still might look thick on her pics, it’s lots of loose skin. She’s an under the cover sleeper and great with all dogs and even cats! Lucy is still a bit timid and seems more nervous around men. She will definitely need at least one other more confident dog in the home and at least one female adult human. An all female home would be absolutely perfect for her but she would probably do ok with a calm, gentle man as long as she also had her emotional support woman there too. Lucy also does require a fenced yard as she gains confidence on leash     Interested in adopting? Email adrienne@rescuemega.org or fill out an adoption application on our website- www.rmgdogs.org ##2195044##

Story
Right? Can you EVEN with that sweet look on his face? Buddy Ross is a total nugget; we kind of love him - but yeah, we love them alllll, so there's that. Through no fault of his own, Buddy comes to DREAM after his previous owner became unable to care for him. He's been loved his whole life, and he has a lot of love to give. He enjoys playing with toys, and gets on well with other dogs. We aren't sure about cats. Buddy is a people dog, for sure. He loves grownups and kids, and he gets along with his canine foster brothers & sisters. He wants nothing more than to be in your lap, giving you kisses. His soulful eyes will make you feel like he sees and understands everything. Buddy is an Isabella dachshund (silvery blue fur) and like most Isabellas, he has some hair loss aka alopecia. He has grown some hair since coming to DREAM and being fed quality kibble. He has a section of fur on his neck that looks like a necktie. What a jaunty little guy! He doesn't take medicine for it, but would need sun protection like anyone else if he were exposed to the elements. Buddy Ross is NOT a fan of doggo sweaters but does enjoy snuggling in a bed and under a blanket. He's accustomed to using wee-pads to do his biznezz, but we're working on getting him used to the idea of fertilizing the grass instead of going inside. He's a champ at wearing belly bands which his foster mom refers to as his “gym shorts”. When he’s wearing his gym shorts he doesn’t wet them so maybe he just loves making a fashion statement?. He is also crate trained. Buddy loves squeaky toys and bones of all kinds. (He is also a sneaky thief of paper towels and napkins. 😅 The ideal home for Buddy would be someone who wants a constant companion. If you're looking for a friendly, low-key, playful, "your own little shadow" companion look no further than Buddy Ross. Complete an application right online. If you are interested in adopting Buddy Ross, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Buddy Ross's adoption fee is $350. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Buddy Ross will go to his new home microchipped, neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed. We've also given him a dental for sweet kissy breath. Almost every dog's veterinary expenses exceed our adoption fees; we are a non-profit. DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back. Follow us on Instagram , Facebook and Twitter
