Story
Meet Tootsie!  It’s THE GOLDEN BACHELORETTE, RMG version! Tootsie is a senior gal looking for love! This 11-12 yr old purebred dachshund might be a little grey around the muzzle but she still has some pep in her step! Tootsie great with other dogs and cats but she would easily trade those in for a soft blanket to burrow in and a lap to nap in! She’s really just a simple girl at heart looking for a tried and true dachshund person to spend her Golden Years with.  Interested in adopting Tootsie? Email adrienne@rescuemega.org or fill out an adoption application on our website- www.rmgdogs.org    ##2155994##

Story
Meet Sparky!  Sparky was part of the group of seniors that came to us several weeks ago after their human mom passed away and their human dad was forced to leave the family home - leaving no where for these poor babies to go. Since they technically would have been considered owner surrenders in a county with an extremely small shelter, they would have been euthanized immediately if a rescue didn’t step up to help them.  Sparky is about 12 years old with lots of life left to live! He’s obviously great with other dogs since he lived as part of a pack for most of his life, but he’s also adjusted quite nicely to being the King of the Castle in his foster home! He would love to join a quiet, dachshund loving home so that he can thoroughly enjoy his retirement!!  Does that sound like you? Email adrienne@rescuemega.org or fill out an adoption application on our website- www.rmgdogs.org ##2161174##

Story
General is a little guy with a big personality! This cutie is a Dachshund/Beagle Mix, is estimated to be 5yr old, and weighs just 15lbs. General is a snuggly little guy who is dog and kid friendly. He loves to go on car rides, enjoys walks around the neighborhood, and has a blast playing with his toys! General would love a home where he can relax with his people and receive all the snuggles and affection day in and day out! General would make a great addition to a household looking for a small dog with a big dog personality! He would fit in well in any house, and does not require a fenced yard. He is house trained and crate trained. General is currently Heartworm positive, and is currently available for a foster to adopt situation until his HW treatment is complete and he is medically cleared for adoption. If you are not familiar with Heartworm disease, dogs get it from mosquitoes and it is not contagious. It is easily prevented and highly treatable, but requires extended rest during treatment. BarkVille will cover all of General&#39s medical expenses while he&#39s being fostered and receiving HW treatment. If you&#39re interested in fostering to adopt this sweet boy, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.October 4, 2024, 9:39 am

Story
❗ Current Location: in a foster home in South Korea❗ Meet Lylla :) • She rides so well that if you open the car door she gets in by herself, and she doesn't get car sick at all. If you like traveling she would make a really good buddy! • She loves playing with other dogs, running in the park, cuddles, kisses, sleeping with you, walks, hikes, and delicious food (fruit, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, cheese, meat) and treats! • Personality: She is affectionate, full of energy, loves to have fun, and adapts well to new things. She likes both people and dogs and cats (she'll play with them). She also loves to play in the park or the mountains. When she's excited, she'll purr to show her excitement. She loves to be held - she wants to fall asleep with you in your arms. She's the best dog ever!

Story
Right? Can you EVEN with that sweet look on his face? Buddy Ross is a total nugget; we kind of love him - but yeah, we love them alllll, so there's that. Through no fault of his own, Buddy comes to DREAM after his previous owner became unable to care for him. He's been loved his whole life, and he has a lot of love to give. He enjoys playing with toys, and gets on well with other dogs. We aren't sure about cats. Buddy is a people dog, for sure. He loves grownups and kids, and he gets along with his canine foster brothers & sisters. He wants nothing more than to be in your lap, giving you kisses. His soulful eyes will make you feel like he sees and understands everything. Buddy is an Isabella dachshund (silvery blue fur) and like most Isabellas, he has some hair loss aka alopecia. He has grown some hair since coming to DREAM and being fed quality kibble. He has a section of fur on his neck that looks like a necktie. What a jaunty little guy! He doesn't take medicine for it, but would need sun protection like anyone else if he were exposed to the elements. Buddy Ross is NOT a fan of doggo sweaters but does enjoy snuggling in a bed and under a blanket. He's accustomed to using wee-pads to do his biznezz, but we're working on getting him used to the idea of fertilizing the grass instead of going inside. He's a champ at wearing belly bands which his foster mom refers to as his “gym shorts”. When he’s wearing his gym shorts he doesn’t wet them so maybe he just loves making a fashion statement?. He is also crate trained. Buddy loves squeaky toys and bones of all kinds. (He is also a sneaky thief of paper towels and napkins. 😅 The ideal home for Buddy would be someone who wants a constant companion. If you're looking for a friendly, low-key, playful, "your own little shadow" companion look no further than Buddy Ross. Complete an application right online. If you are interested in adopting Buddy Ross, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Buddy Ross's adoption fee is $350. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Buddy Ross will go to his new home microchipped, neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed. We've also given him a dental for sweet kissy breath. Almost every dog's veterinary expenses exceed our adoption fees; we are a non-profit. DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back. Follow us on Instagram , Facebook and Twitter
