VIP needed!!! For two darling pups! These sweet Dachshund ladies were brought into Bellevue Animal Clinic after a very kind lady found them, fully vetted them and attempted to bring back to their owner. They were indeed microchipped but upon hearing back from the owner, she let the finder know she no longer wanted them. Thankfully, the lady who found them has taken great care of them and has taken them to the vet for whatever care was needed. Now they need to find a real home! One that will love them forever! They are currently in Louisiana but we can possibly meet an out of state adopter closer. Apply online at https://www.southernstatesbullyrescue.org/blank **must be adopted together**

We take the dogs that are adopted down...so if a dog is on the website they are available. Obedience training and fully fenced in yard is required for all our pups.   Completion certificate for training needs to be emailed once complete.  When applying pictures/videos of your fully enclosed yard is needed. Please only send inquiries to the email in this bio all others will not be answered. Please read the bio before sending questions - we answer all we know about the dog here. If the question is not answered in the bio please send emails to   info@HeidisLegacyDogRescue.com "You've got some 'splaining to do!" Hey new best friend, We’re Lucy & Ricky! Our foster pawrents like to call us “Cece” & “Ricky Baker”, and we don’t mind at all! We’re about 2 years old, we think! All we know is that we were roaming the streets in New Mexico on June 24, 2022 when we were found and vetted. The vet said we were around 5-6 months old at the time. The nice family that found us kept us for a year until we all moved to Tampa. Our found family was having another baby and needed to move in with family. But too bad for us, the new house had multiple cats and we just don’t really get a long with cats. Now we’re being fostered in St. Pete, and it was like we’ve always lived here! We’re just happy pups living our best lives, waiting for our permanent forever home, together. Lucy: “First of all, bark bark bark, can I give you a bunch of kisses to show you how much I love you even though I just met you?? Thanks!! I think that need to kiss is because I think I’m part Chihuahua, maybe Dachshund, maybe something else? Now let me walk you through all my favorite things so you can prepare! First of all, I love my brother Ricky so much. When he’s not within eye sight, I like to make sure he’s around by finding him, and puling on his collar. He does the same to me too! We just love each other so much! I absolutely love snuggling under a blanket near my caretaker. If you have to get up to go do anything, don’t worry, I’ll come along! But as soon as you sit back down, it’s snuggle time. Sometimes my brother Ricky will try to take over my cuddle spot, and sometimes I let him after he tells me he REALLY wants to snuggle the human. My favorite is when BOTH humans are home so we have our own snuggle buddy. But we’ll settle for both sitting on you and pining for your attention. I am most excited when the humans wake up and will smother them with kisses and gentle nibbles. Sometimes, my 18lb self will get so excited I can’t control myself and I jump around with an open mouth. Im not trying to hurt anyone but sometimes my teeth will touch the humans skin and they tell me it hurts. (Even though I don’t think it really does…I just don’t think they want me doing that) Then!!! It’s breakfast time! I eat right next to Ricky where we enjoy our dry kibble with some chicken breast atop. If I leave to follow you around, Ricky will try to hijack my food! But he’s not mean about it, just sneaky! I like it best when you hang with me while we eat. After that it’s go time in the back yard for potty time. Ricky and I will sprint as fast as we can around the fenced in yard, chasing each other around and having some super fun wrestle mania moments! I am the ultimate lizard hunter and will run and chase them. I also like chasing just about anything! I’m so fast Ricky can hardly keep up! We love to wrestle and tumble around. And I LOVE toys! Oh boy oh boy! You toss a toy, and I’ll get it for you right away! Sometimes Ill even bury them so Ricky can’t find them, hehe. We are so used to playing freely in a fenced in yard that when our foster pawrents take us for walks, we give them a run for their money! We don’t really understand how walks work, BUT WE LOVE BEING OUTSIDE! Anyway, after dinner time we are ready to settle in for the night. Don’t get my wrong, we’d love to go out for a car ride or on an adventure, a walk, play in the backyard…but honestly, we’re super okay with just snuggling on the couch and catching up on some shows! I’d love to sleep with you in bed under the blankets but I am also ok sleeping in my crate with my blankie. Ricky: “HI BARK BARK BARK! I’m a big small boy who enjoys simple pleasures like snuggling, looking our the window with Lucy, snoozing, eating, treats, and chasing Lucy in the backyard. (She’s so fast!!!) Unlike Lucy, I’m not as emotional and won’t go super crazy when you get home. I’ll greet you with a couple kisses, a wagging tail, and promptly sit on you the moment I’m able. The first time I meet you I will have to greet you with my low woofs, but I quit that out as soon as I see you’re a good human. I am protective of my humans, but super curious so while the woof may startle you, I’m just a big baby who just wants a lil attention and I use my voice to obtain it! (Smart right?!) I love children because they are at my level and so fun to play with. I’m gentle with them but Lucy might steal their stuffy! (I might steal it back if she takes it!) It’s probably best that if you have a kiddo with stuffies, that you only let us play with Nyla Bones or other harder chew toys so we don’t get confused between a stuffy and our play toy! Lucy and I lovey to chase small animals, like mice, lizards, bunnies, squirrels, birds, ect. It feels like something implanted in our DNA that makes us tiny hunters. Oh, so new foster ma has cut back on our portion sizes for breakfast and dinner because she said we were “thick”. (24lbs of pure love!) I don’t agree with her but I don’t want my legs to start hurting   Lucy & Ricky's adoption fee is $600 - 0bedience training required after adoption and fully enclosed fenced in yard is also required for these two.   To apply to foster or adopt please fill out application at www.heidislegacydogrescue.com/apply-to-foster-or-adopt Thank you for completing the application.   Please only send inquires to the email in this bio all others will not be answered. Please read the bio before sending questions - we answer all we know about the dog here. Butters here, reporting for duty! Yep, you heard it right, they call me Butter Butt, and I wear that title with pride. I'm nearly 4 (or so I think), but who's counting when there are toys to play with and friends to sniff out gifts from? Don't mind me if I'm a bit shy at first, but once we lock eyes, it's game on! I'll be reaching for a toy before you can say 'fetch!' Now, let's talk about the paparazzi moments on our walks. Yep, people can't resist stopping us to gush over my dashing good looks. I mean, can you blame them? But don't worry, I'm a laid-back dude who loves playtime just as much as chill time. And by chill time, I mean ALL day lounging on the comfiest spot I can find. Oh, and speaking of tricks, I've got a few up my sleeve. Sit, stay, paw... and sometimes I'll even grace you with a rollover. But let's cut to the chase – walks are my jam! Mention the 'W' word, and I'm ready to hit the pavement. ‍&#226&#153&#130&#239&#184&#143 As for bedtime arrangements, I'm cool with snuggling up in bed with you or cozying up in my own little space, like a comfy cage. When it comes to visitors, I prefer my pack (that's you!) over strangers, but fellow doggos? Bring 'em on! However, those tiny humans with their unpredictable movements? Yeah, they can be a bit intimidating, so a kid-free zone is ideal for me. Now, let's talk cuisine. Dry food, wet food, heck, I'll even dabble in whatever you toss my way – I'm not picky! In my world, manners matter, and I can't wait to share my world with you. So, who's ready to embark on this adventure with me? Butters adoption fee is $400 - obedience training is required - fully enclosed front or backyard is also required   Obedience training is also required for all our pups.  We understand with what is going on in the world that this may be a bit delayed.  Please email us the completion certificate. I'm on the lookout for a foster home or, even better, a forever family to call my own!    A bit about me: I'm a delightful blend of dachshund, mini pin and yorkie, which means I'm the perfect combo of long and lovely with a dash of sass. I clock in at 5 years young (my big day is 10/19/2018), and I pack a whole lot of personality into my 15-pound frame.    I may be small, but I've got great energy! I love to zip around the yard, and boy, do I get the zoomies! But don't let my playful side fool you; I'm also a top-notch cuddler. There's nothing I love more than lounging with my humans, resting my head on you, or curling up in your lap.    Kids? I'm all about 'em. I've got a soft spot for the little ones and am super protective of my home and my tiny humans. Other fur friends? Well, I'm a bit choosy, especially when we're out and about on leashes, but I warm up to new pals pretty quickly.   When you walk through the door, expect a burst of excitement! I'm always ready to greet you with love, cuteness, and a wagging tail. Whether it's playtime or snuggle time, I'm your girl.   Can't wait to meet my new family! Story
Meet Papaya! Papaya joined our ALDR family a few weeks ago after he was brought into the county shelter being witnessed to be hit by a car not once, but twice, which resulted in life threatening injuries. He was taken to Pasco County Animal Services where an exam showed that he had a large degloving wound on his left thorax/shoulder/sternal/neck area, severe bruising, bilateral fractured fibulas, left hip subluxation, pulmonary contusions, sclera hemorrhage and dental disease. Basically the little guy was in bad condition! Papaya was hospitalized and once he was stabilized he moved into one of our amazing, experienced foster homes with a certified technician that has been providing all care needed since. Sadly he sustained so many wounds, road rash and degloving and one of the largest wounds was becoming necrotic so Papaya ended up back at the ER. He had to have surgery again for full debridement and has since been getting wet-to-dry bandages daily. This stage could take weeks, but we are committed to him and are doing everything we can! Despite everything, little guy is doing exceptionally well and is full is spunk! His wounds are healing very well, he is taking his meds like a good boy and because of that he got his first pup cup! If interested in adopting please fill out the adoption application on our website at animalluvrs.org under the ADOPT tab. We will require veterinary, personal and property references that we will verify. Feel free to email us at aldr@animalluvrs.org for more information. All of our adoptable rescues have a clean bill of health (unless otherwise stated), are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (age-appropriately), tested (FeLV/FIV for cats, HW for dogs over 6 months of age), current on flea and heartworm prevention and microchipped. This is all included in their adoption fee that goes in as a donation to help us cover their medical costs and continue to help other animals in need. Any questions, concerns and suggestions, please feel free to contact us at ALDR@animalluvrs.org. ##1529757##
