Story
Phoenix is a boy about 2 years old. He was found wandering the streets, and had possibly been doing so for quite some time. We are not 100% certain of his breed mix, but he has the coloring of a black mouth curr dog, and shows a few dachshund characteristics. He is smallish, weighing approximately 12 lbs. Phoenix is shy and takes a bit to warm up to strangers, but once he does, he is an absolutely lovely little man! He really enjoys playing with toys, and whenever his foster mom takes all the toys for wash day, as soon as they come out of the dryer, he takes them one by one back to his nesting spot. This may be a trait left over from his days on the street. He is not protective of them, anyone can play with whatever toy they choose, but they always end up back in his bed. Due to his shy nature, Phoenix would do best in a home without a lot of activity and roughhousing. He is wary of the crate, but we are working on that. He is housebroken with a doggy door. Phoenix is in good health, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He is a delightful little boy. For more information on this pup or to adopt, please visit our web page at www.limbochihuahuas.org. Our application process includes a home visit and veterinarian and/or personal check. Limbo Chihuahuas is a 501c3 non-profit organization and all adoption fees are considered donations and are tax deductible.

Story
Remi is a very happy 5 year old 19-20 lbs pup that loves to be pampered. He is particularly fond of cuddling and will give kisses, burrow in your blanket, and happily spend the whole day on the couch with you! Remi has received regular medical care and as well as recent behavioral training. He can “place” and “busy busy” on command, and has experience in public settings and with loose leash walking. However, Remi needs your help protecting him from kids, cats, and strangers. He doesn't like small children. Remi does OK with other dogs–he lives with 4 currently–but he can be a cranky old man and growl or fight with them. He would prefer all your love and attention! When nervous or excited, Remi may pee. So he prefers a consistent routine and needs a caring owner who enjoys talking to him and will always love him

We take the dogs that are adopted down...so if a dog is on the website they are available. Obedience training and fully fenced in yard is required for all our pups.   Completion certificate for training needs to be emailed once complete.  When applying pictures/videos of your fully enclosed yard is needed. Please only send inquiries to the email in this bio all others will not be answered. Please read the bio before sending questions - we answer all we know about the dog here. If the question is not answered in the bio please send emails to   info@HeidisLegacyDogRescue.com Hey new best friend, We’re Lucy & Ricky! We’re about 2 years old, we think! All we know is that we were roaming the streets in New Mexico on June 24, 2022 when we were found and vetted. The vet said we were around 5-6 months old at the time. The nice family that found us kept us for a year until we all moved to Tampa. Our found family was having another baby and needed to move in with family. But too bad for us, the new house wasn’t big enough for all of us. Now we’re being fostered in St. Pete, and it was like we’ve always lived here! We’re just happy pups living our best lives, waiting for our permanent forever home, together. Lucy: “First of all, bark bark bark, can I give you a bunch of kisses to show you how much I love you even though I just met you?? Thanks!! I think that need to kiss is because I think I’m part Chihuahua, maybe Dachshund, maybe something else? Now let me walk you through all my favorite things so you can prepare! I will bark because Im nervous or unsure of something or someone, but after a while, I settle right down so we can snuggle. I am most excited when the humans wake up and will smother them with kisses and gentle nibbles. Sometimes, my 18lb self will get so excited I can’t control myself and I jump around with an open mouth. Im not trying to hurt anyone but sometimes my teeth will touch the humans skin and they tell me it hurts. (Even though I don’t think it really does…I just don’t think they want me doing that) During breakfast I eat right next to Ricky where we enjoy our dry kibble with some chicken breast atop. If I leave to follow you around, Ricky will try to hijack my food! But he’s not mean about it, just sneaky! I like it best when you hang with me while we eat. After that it’s go time in the back yard for potty time. Ricky and I will sprint as fast as we can around the fenced in yard, chasing each other around and having some super fun wrestle mania moments! I am the ultimate lizard hunter and will run and chase them. I also like chasing just about anything! I’m so fast Ricky can hardly keep up! I LOVE toys! Oh boy oh boy! You toss a toy, and I’ll get it for you right away! Sometimes Ill even bury them so Ricky can’t find them, hehe. We are so used to playing freely in a fenced in yard that when our foster pawrents take us for walks, we give them a run for their money! We don’t really understand how walks work, BUT WE LOVE BEING OUTSIDE! Maybe you can teach us how to be really good walkers on a leash? Anyway, after dinner time we are ready to settle in for the night. Don’t get my wrong, we’d love to go out for a car ride or on an adventure, a walk, play in the backyard…but honestly, we’re super okay with just snuggling on the couch and catching up on some shows! I’d love to sleep with you in bed under the blankets but I am also ok sleeping in my crate with my blankie. Ricky: “HI BARK BARK BARK! I’m a big small boy who enjoys simple pleasures like snuggling, looking out the window with Lucy, snoozing, eating, treats, and chasing Lucy in the backyard. (She’s so fast!!!) The first time I meet you I will have to greet you with my low woofs, but I quit that out as soon as I see you’re a good human. I am protective of my humans, but super curious so while the woof may startle you, I’m just a big baby who just wants a lil attention and I use my voice to obtain it! (Smart right?!) I love children because they are at my level and so fun to play with. I’m gentle with them but Lucy might steal their stuffy! (I might steal it back if she takes it!) It’s probably best that if you have a kiddo with stuffies, that you only let us play with Nyla Bones or other harder chew toys so we don’t get confused between a stuffy and our play toy! Oh, so new foster ma has cut back on our portion sizes for breakfast and dinner because she said we were “thick”. (24lbs of pure love!) I don’t agree with her but I don’t want my legs to start hurting because of my weight, so FINE!. I trick her by being super cute and then she gives me lots of treats, so Im good. I think I’m part Corgi, Dachshund, and Min Pin which is why my legs are my best feature. My foster pawrents also think my ears are cute because one is always up, and one is always down. “Anyway! Our foster pawrents are going to be really sad when we are adopted but they know how special we are so they are working hard to find us the perfect permanent home.” Love, Lucy & Ricky Highlights: We are curious about cats and would be okay in a home with a young cat that can play with us or get away if we’re being too curious. Right now we live with an 18 year old cat so we have to be very gentle with her and we just wanna play with her so bad! We now know how to “Sit” & “give paw” (for treats of course). Lucy & Ricky's adoption fee is $600 - obedience training is required after adoption and fully enclosed front or backyard is also required.   To apply to foster or adopt please fill out application at www.heidislegacydogrescue.com/apply-to-foster-or-adopt Thank you for completing the application. The pic of the pup on the left is Maisie. The pup on the right is Cassie, who is also a female and up for rehoming as well. Maisie is a sweet dog. She does well with other dogs and cats. She is calm and quiet. Unfortunately, my brother has become ill and unable to care for the dogs properly. I am hoping to find them both good homes.

Story
I’m not able to properly care for Buddy anymore and it’s not fair to him. It is heartbreaking for me, but my mobility issues make it very hard. My daughter and her family can’t take him in as he doesn’t get along with their dog. He is very loving to adults and older kids and he deserves a good home for his twilight years.
