Story
We must travel to England and cannot continue fostering two wonderful dog here in Costa Rica. We will cover all transportation costs and fly with them to meet you wherever you are located. They were homeless and starving. They are now very healthy, happy and loving dogs. Beto is about 5 years old, male and a 45-pound Pointer. Pantera is about 5, female and a 25-pound Dachshund mix. They are spayed and neutered, chipped, current with their shots. Beto and Pantera are very friendly and loving with adults and children. They quickly become friends with other dogs when they walk together on leashes. They are house trained, always 100% respectful of property, love riding in the car and walk well on a leash. We are moving to England for 6 months in March. We are happy to fly with Beto and Pantera to deliver them safely to a loving home in the US. There are many homeless dogs in CR. No one can take them here. Please help these loving dogs. Thank you!

Story
Meet Bridget! This sweet and sassy Chihuahua/Dachshund mix is 2 years and 9 months young and 23 pounds of pure fun. With her gorgeous tan-and-black coat and her big puppy-dog eyes, Bridget is here to steal hearts and snack treats. She is playful, loves her hard plastic chew toys and is always ready for a game of fetch or a good chew session. She is smart and already knows the commands to come, go to her kennel and is eager to learn more commands if snacks are involved. Spayed last year, no bite history and fully vaccinated (including a microchip implant for extra peace of mind), Bridget's medical record is as spotless as her shiny coat. For the past year Bridget was the loving companion of my independent living elderly mother. Recent health concerns have necessitated she live FT in a nursing home and I travel frequently for work. Bridget is perfect for someone looking for a playful, loving, and well-mannered companion. Video of Bridget: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/3gRi54A_lQM

Story
Hi, My name is Alf, but my foster family calls me Alfie and I kinda dig it.  I’m a Dachshund-Yorkie Terrier blend boy, 2 years young and weigh 14 lbs.  My fosters tell me (ALL the time) that I’m the “bestest boy”, so I think I’m pretty special.  I hope you do too! General Behavior: Alf is a confident, happy, silly, playful, affectionate boy. He adjusts quickly to new environments and makes friends with other fur pals fast. Likes & Dislikes: Alf loves toys! And if he has a long, plush toy and a friend to tug with, he’s all in! He also loves small chewy bones and will lounge and relax while he works on his chews. Alf loves to play and run and bounce, but he’s also the perfect snuggler and will nuzzle in by your side if you want to just chill with a good book and a cuddly companion. He also just happens to give the very best hugs and gentle little kisses that will melt your heart.Alf has a great appetite and does zoomies when it’s mealtime. He gets very excited about treats and yummy food, especially when he gets extra goodies for dinner like chicken or sweet potatoes - YUM, that’s his favorite! Training: Alf has good house manners and won’t get into things if you’re away or preoccupied. He’s still working on his house training, but if kept on a regular schedule with frequent outdoor breaks, he does great! He is very food motivated so lots of praise and treats have helped with this. Alf is a super smart fella so if you’re looking for a pooch to learn tricks and maybe even some cool agility stuff, he’s your guy. Medical: Alf is a healthy guy and will just require his monthly heartworm and flea prevention; like any other dog.    Other Animals: Alf has lived with big and small dogs and cats too. He’s an active little man so he’d really love the company of an equally active pooch or two to share his new life with. Children: Because of Alf’s small size and energy, a home with children (8 years and older) would be the best fit for him. Home: Alf requires a single-family home with a fenced yard. He will bark to alert you to any deliveries, door knocks or any loud outdoor traffic or commotion. A home that has shared walls with other tenants wouldn’t be ideal when Alf is vocal. Alf is an outdoor explorer and when the door opens to the back fenced yard - he bolts and springs into action for his outdoor duties, squirrel chasing and lizard hunting, of course. Alf should be treated as a flight risk, if there’s an open door and he spots a friend (furry or otherwise), he will run to catch them. He loves running in the backyard and exploring nature so a home with a fenced yard would be ideal for him. He loves his outside time with his foster siblings and would run and romp through the grass all day if he could. Grooming: Alf won’t require elaborate professional grooms. He has a beautiful coat that just needs regular brushing and the occasional at-home spa day with bubble baths and regular nail trims. Then he’s ready to hit the town and meet new friends! Overall: Alf’s ideal home would be one with other playful pups to pal around with, a loving, doting family to spoil him rotten, let him nuzzle into bed with you, a family to take him on adventures and a nice big yard for him to run and explore multiple times each day (supervised, of course). If you think Alf sounds like your kinda guy, please visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with his foster family for more information if it’s a potential match. Alf is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped and neutered.  His adoption donation is $500. ##2215185##

Story
Linus is sweet but old dog. He loves cuddling but sleeps most of time. Our house has been hit with both hurricanes and we have been moved several different times which Linus does not do well. His hearing and eyesight is getting bad but doesn't affect him. I recently have taken on a director position at our school where I work and I am hardly home. Class we are constantly trying to work on our house. Linus needs to be able to have someone who can take him to the bathroom frequently. As he gets older it's harder for him to hold his bladder all day. We also get home very late so we don't have time to go on walks or play with him. I have considered taking him to the humane society but would rather find someone who would love him.
