NAME:  Ollie BREED:  Long Haired Dachshund mix SEX:  male COLOR:  white/tan AGE:  5 yrs as of May 2024 WEIGHT:  17 lbs FOSTERED BY: LOCATED IN: NOTES FROM FOSTER FAMILY: Ollie is a sweet, spunky boy who loves attention! At first he's a little shy, but after he gets to know you, he will be your best friend. He loves going on walks, car rides, and a good cuddle session. He likes toys, but loves to collect socks in his bed like they are souvenirs. Trips to the groomer for a haircut and spaw day is something he finds very relaxing. He isn't too fond of cats, so he would do best in a home with dogs only, or even as an only dog to soak up all the love himself." We take the dogs that are adopted down...so if a dog is on the website they are available. Obedience training and fully fenced in yard is required for all our pups.   Completion certificate for training needs to be emailed once complete.  When applying pictures/videos of your fully enclosed yard is needed. Please only send inquiries to the email in this bio all others will not be answered. Please read the bio before sending questions - we answer all we know about the dog here. If the question is not answered in the bio please send emails to   info@HeidisLegacyDogRescue.com Hey new best friend, We’re Lucy & Ricky! We’re about 2 years old, we think! All we know is that we were roaming the streets in New Mexico on June 24, 2022 when we were found and vetted. The vet said we were around 5-6 months old at the time. The nice family that found us kept us for a year until we all moved to Tampa. Our found family was having another baby and needed to move in with family. But too bad for us, the new house wasn’t big enough for all of us. Now we’re being fostered in St. Pete, and it was like we’ve always lived here! We’re just happy pups living our best lives, waiting for our permanent forever home, together. Lucy: “First of all, bark bark bark, can I give you a bunch of kisses to show you how much I love you even though I just met you?? Thanks!! I think that need to kiss is because I think I’m part Chihuahua, maybe Dachshund, maybe something else? Now let me walk you through all my favorite things so you can prepare! I will bark because Im nervous or unsure of something or someone, but after a while, I settle right down so we can snuggle. I am most excited when the humans wake up and will smother them with kisses and gentle nibbles. Sometimes, my 18lb self will get so excited I can’t control myself and I jump around with an open mouth. Im not trying to hurt anyone but sometimes my teeth will touch the humans skin and they tell me it hurts. (Even though I don’t think it really does…I just don’t think they want me doing that) During breakfast I eat right next to Ricky where we enjoy our dry kibble with some chicken breast atop. If I leave to follow you around, Ricky will try to hijack my food! But he’s not mean about it, just sneaky! I like it best when you hang with me while we eat. After that it’s go time in the back yard for potty time. Ricky and I will sprint as fast as we can around the fenced in yard, chasing each other around and having some super fun wrestle mania moments! I am the ultimate lizard hunter and will run and chase them. I also like chasing just about anything! I’m so fast Ricky can hardly keep up! I LOVE toys! Oh boy oh boy! You toss a toy, and I’ll get it for you right away! Sometimes Ill even bury them so Ricky can’t find them, hehe. We are so used to playing freely in a fenced in yard that when our foster pawrents take us for walks, we give them a run for their money! We don’t really understand how walks work, BUT WE LOVE BEING OUTSIDE! Maybe you can teach us how to be really good walkers on a leash? Anyway, after dinner time we are ready to settle in for the night. Don’t get my wrong, we’d love to go out for a car ride or on an adventure, a walk, play in the backyard…but honestly, we’re super okay with just snuggling on the couch and catching up on some shows! I’d love to sleep with you in bed under the blankets but I am also ok sleeping in my crate with my blankie. Ricky: “HI BARK BARK BARK! I’m a big small boy who enjoys simple pleasures like snuggling, looking out the window with Lucy, snoozing, eating, treats, and chasing Lucy in the backyard. (She’s so fast!!!) The first time I meet you I will have to greet you with my low woofs, but I quit that out as soon as I see you’re a good human. I am protective of my humans, but super curious so while the woof may startle you, I’m just a big baby who just wants a lil attention and I use my voice to obtain it! (Smart right?!) I love children because they are at my level and so fun to play with. I’m gentle with them but Lucy might steal their stuffy! (I might steal it back if she takes it!) It’s probably best that if you have a kiddo with stuffies, that you only let us play with Nyla Bones or other harder chew toys so we don’t get confused between a stuffy and our play toy! Oh, so new foster ma has cut back on our portion sizes for breakfast and dinner because she said we were “thick”. (24lbs of pure love!) I don’t agree with her but I don’t want my legs to start hurting because of my weight, so FINE!. I trick her by being super cute and then she gives me lots of treats, so Im good. I think I’m part Corgi, Dachshund, and Min Pin which is why my legs are my best feature. My foster pawrents also think my ears are cute because one is always up, and one is always down. “Anyway! Our foster pawrents are going to be really sad when we are adopted but they know how special we are so they are working hard to find us the perfect permanent home.” Love, Lucy & Ricky Highlights: We are curious about cats and would be okay in a home with a young cat that can play with us or get away if we’re being too curious. Right now we live with an 18 year old cat so we have to be very gentle with her and we just wanna play with her so bad! We now know how to “Sit” & “give paw” (for treats of course). Lucy & Ricky's adoption fee is $600 - obedience training is required after adoption and fully enclosed front or backyard is also required.   To apply to foster or adopt please fill out application at www.heidislegacydogrescue.com/apply-to-foster-or-adopt Thank you for completing the application.   Please only send inquires to the email in this bio all others will not be answered. Please read the bio before sending questions - we answer all we know about the dog here. Butters here, reporting for duty! Yep, you heard it right, they call me Butter Butt, and I wear that title with pride. I'm nearly 4 (or so I think), but who's counting when there are toys to play with and friends to sniff out gifts from? Don't mind me if I'm a bit shy at first, but once we lock eyes, it's game on! I'll be reaching for a toy before you can say 'fetch!' Now, let's talk about the paparazzi moments on our walks. Yep, people can't resist stopping us to gush over my dashing good looks. I mean, can you blame them? But don't worry, I'm a laid-back dude who loves playtime just as much as chill time. And by chill time, I mean ALL day lounging on the comfiest spot I can find. Oh, and speaking of tricks, I've got a few up my sleeve. Sit, stay, paw... and sometimes I'll even grace you with a rollover. But let's cut to the chase – walks are my jam! Mention the 'W' word, and I'm ready to hit the pavement. ‍&#226&#153&#130&#239&#184&#143 As for bedtime arrangements, I'm cool with snuggling up in bed with you or cozying up in my own little space, like a comfy cage. When it comes to visitors, I prefer my pack (that's you!) over strangers, but fellow doggos? Bring 'em on! However, those tiny humans with their unpredictable movements? Yeah, they can be a bit intimidating, so a kid-free zone is ideal for me. Now, let's talk cuisine. Dry food, wet food, heck, I'll even dabble in whatever you toss my way – I'm not picky! In my world, manners matter, and I can't wait to share my world with you. So, who's ready to embark on this adventure with me? Butters adoption fee is $400 - obedience training is required - fully enclosed front or backyard is also required   Obedience training is also required for all our pups.  We understand with what is going on in the world that this may be a bit delayed.  Please email us the completion certificate.
