Please contact Darlene at 302-312-5129 (fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.  This dog is located in Newark, DE. Visit us on the web at https://fur-everpaws.com/fur-ever-paws-adoption-application/ to submit an application. Please contact the foster directly at 302-312-5129 (text or call) or via email at fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com Fur Ever Paws Dog Rescue is a small no kill rescue operating in the Delaware/Maryland area. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed). We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters. &#226&#128&#139 November 9, 2024, 11:51 pm

Jake, Is a very happy dog. He gets excited when he sees you. Once he smells you and gets used to you, he's very lovable. He wants attention he wants to go for walks. I think he will be good with kids. I didn't have many kids around him. Hes about 10 years old. He loves his snacks and treats. He has his favorite blankets and chew toys. Jake has away of talking to you and responding with his looks and head movements. And he's an excellent protector. He's house trained and lovable. I will also give his dog house and items. Story
Dog Name: Jimmy Dean Breed: Dachshund/Pitty mix Sex: Male - Neutered Age: 2 yo Weight: 33 lbs Medical Needs: None Housebroken: Mostly. He’s had a couple of accidents but does really well with a routine schedule Crate trained: Yes. He may bark for a few minutes but then settles down Good in the car: Yes Good on a leash: He does pull and gets excited when he sees other dogs when out on walks Energy level: High but can also chill and snuggle on the couch Need a fenced in yard: No, he would be fine with leashed walks, but a positive if he can run free in a yard with a fence. If you have a fence, he may be able to get over a small fence Dog Friendly: No, however has done very well with resident dogs so slow introductions seem to work well with him If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No Cat Friendly? Unknown but does seem to have a high prey drive Kid Friendly: Yes, If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Would recommend only children 12+ due to his energy, jumping and strength Jimmy Dean is a sweet little dude that would like all of your attention. He loves to play with toys and chew on his rubber bone. He loves to play fetch and can jump quite high for his size. He’s just happy to be wherever the people are. Fosters Location: Hockessin, DE Application can be found here: https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application (if you already have an approved application on file email GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask the app team to pull your app ##2067441##
