Story
Essie may be small, but she’s bursting with love, energy, and personality. This affectionate little girl adores her people and shows it with plenty of sweet kisses and cuddles. Once she feels comfortable, her playful side shines—she loves to run around, play tug-of-war, and happily chew on her favorite toys. Essie enjoys spending time with other dogs and loves a good play session. She can be a bit timid at first, but she warms up quickly and soon becomes a loyal, people-oriented companion. She’s currently in the early stages of potty training and is learning more every day with consistency and encouragement. With her cuddly nature, playful spirit, and loving heart, Essie is ready to bring joy and affection to her forever home. Essie was rescued from a shelter in New Mexico. Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  ##2608382##

Story
Meet our adorable little dachshund basset hound mix Bones. He is around 6 years old and 25lbs. He is pretty chunky, he is likely to have come from a home where he was fed plenty and not exercised very much. We typically see dogs likes Bones end up in a shelter after their owners have passed away or had to go into assisted living facilities.  Here is a video of Bones:https://youtu.be/RTSmdwuhZFk Bones is affectionate, curious but very calm. He is quite shy and reserved when he first meets new people but he is much more confident and outgoing after you give him some affection. He loves to sleep in his fosters bed at night. He is food motivated so should pick up training quickly. Bones doesn't damage anything  when alloved to free roam his foster home. We don't know much of his backstory, he ended up in an Kansas shelter on his own. He doesn't appear to have any behavioral or health issues. He is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.  Bones knows just how miraculous a turn his life has taken when he was picked out by Havok's Wolfpack and he is determined to live his new life to the fullest in the most playful and adventurous way, hopefully, with you. His adoption fee is $200. To submit an adoption application for him, head over to our website:http://www.havokswolfpack.com/adopt/orhttps://petstablished.com/adoption_form/18644/genericIf your application is approved, we will contact you promptly. ##2612999##

Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Colsen | ~10-year-old Dachshund | A big personality in a tiny package Colsen is an approximately 10-year-old Dachshund weighing around 10 pounds, and he is every bit the classic dachshund—opinionated, affectionate, and full of personality. He is reliably house trained with little to no accidents and does best on a consistent schedule. While he doesn’t use a specific signal to ask to go outside, routine works well for him. He walks beautifully on leash and genuinely enjoys getting out for strolls, making walks a fun and easy part of the day. Colsen is crate trained and does very well with it. He goes into his crate easily on command and sleeps through the night without issue. When left home alone, he is typically crated with at least one other dog and has been left for extended periods. He may whine or bark for a short time after his people leave or if another dog starts barking, but he settles down fairly quickly. He has positive, mostly indifferent interactions with other dogs and enjoys their company without needing to be overly involved. Colsen has had mixed but manageable interactions with cats. He may whine or get upset if a cat swats at him, but he does not retaliate. Occasionally, he may chase them when he’s feeling playful, though he has also had calm, positive interactions like sniffing and nose boops. He hasn’t met children yet, but he absolutely loves adults and shows no preference for men or women. Despite being a senior, Colsen has a medium energy level and is surprisingly energetic for his age. He enjoys short walks, playtime, wandering around the house or yard, and then settling in when it’s time to relax. He loves toys—especially hard rubber or plastic ones—and is extremely food motivated, living for praise, affection, and approval. He knows several commands, including sit, come, no, up, and “get in your crate.” True to his breed, Colsen can be strong-willed and a bit barky, and he sometimes jumps up or gets right in your face when he’s excited. With consistency and clear boundaries, he continues to make progress. Some of his favorite things include being under the covers, resting his head on you, offering a paw for attention, and rolling over for belly rubs. Colsen’s ideal home would be with someone who is home more often than not and enjoys interacting with their dog throughout the day. He would love a family who appreciates a dachshund’s big personality and is looking for a loyal, cuddly companion with plenty of spunk left to share.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $100. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
