Hello! My name is Scrappy . I am a young small dog ready for my forever home. I am sweet and loving with a happy spirit that's contagious. I like to go to parks and play outside. I am also happy cuddling up on the couch and relaxing. I am g ood with dogs, people, kids, and cats. I was hit by a car at some point and the injury was never fixed so I do have a limp when I walks. Story
*** If you are interested in Tito, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ *** Meet Tito! Tito was picked up as a stray in Roswell, NM and brought into an overcrowded shelter. Tito has showed in his time at the shelter that he is so sweet, and great with people, other dogs, and even cats! He now has made his way to Colorado for a fresh start. Tito is 2 years old, and a tiny 8 lbs. He is believed to be a Chiweenie; a Dachshund / Chihuahua mix. Tito is SO silly and stinkin' adorable! His foster mom had the following to say about him: "I swear Tito is the cutest dog we've ever met!!! He is SO CUTE and so small and SO SILLY and so friendly!!! 1000/10 dog!!! This little dude is SO sweet, adorable, and friendly. He loves other dogs, he is great with cats, and he is great with people! He is small and truly so adorable. I would say he is potty trained, but did have a few accidents when we first took him home. But once he learned the routine, he's been good! He makes a little squeak sound when he is excited and wiggles his whole body and it's the cutest thing you will ever see! He also LOVES toys!" With any rescue dog, moving from a shelter to a foster to an adoptive home can be very confusing. When an adopting family is sensitive to the challenges of change and acclimation for these dog's, the transition is far easier. A home with a very loving and nurturing family that understands that blossoming takes time would be perfect home for Tito. Socialization, pure love and belly rubs is a gift to a dog that is undergoing a life change. Given the time and space, these dogs shine. As any new rescue dog, Tito would benefit from attending a level 1 training class taught by one of our approved trainers. Farfel's Farm believes in only using positive reinforcement/force free training methods, because we have found that to be more effective. Dogs that do not get proper training and socialization have a much higher risk of developing behavioral problems, and there is a bonding that occurs through the training process that can't be duplicated. It will also teach behaviors that will enable him to go out into the world with excellent manners, and it will create a very respectful relationship between him and his owner. Tito is up to date on his vaccines, heartworm negative, and neutered. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. **PLEASE NOTE**. If you're truly interested in adopting Alfie please be sure to submit the Farfel's Rescue adoption application that can be found at the link above or at farfels.com. Rescue site applications such as Petfinder or Adoptapet don't provide enough information for us to determine a great match for this very deserving dog and therefore aren't useful. We're sorry, but in many circumstances, we're unable to get back to those those that don't submit a Farfel's adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue!

Story
***If you're interested in adopting Scarlet, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. *** Meet Scarlet! This adorable, 1 year old pup has a story of resilience and hope. Scarlet was found wandering alone on a sidewalk in Houston, TX. A kind stranger brought her to a local shelter, but unfortunately, it was a high-kill facility where few dogs get a second chance. Thankfully, we received an urgent plea to save her life—and how could we resist this sweet, lovable girl? Scarlet weighs 19 lbs and is believed to be a Dachshund / Beagle mix. She’s a perfect blend of two beloved breeds, with her long body, soulful eyes, and happy-go-lucky personality. Here’s what Scarlet’s foster has to say: “Oh my gosh, this little long-bodied girl is absolutely gorgeous! She’s all hugs, kisses, and wiggles!” Scarlet loves meeting people and gets along well with other dogs. Like many dogs, she may be a bit shy at first in a new home, but her friendly, joyful nature will shine through as she settles in. While we don’t know if Scarlet has had any formal training, she’s the perfect age to learn! Positive reinforcement training helps build trust, confidence, and lifelong good behavior. Farfel’s requires adopters to commit to a training program—whether virtual or in-person—to ensure a successful transition for Scarlet and her new family. We provide every adopter with recommendations for highly regarded, force-free trainers in your area. Scarlet is fully vetted and up-to-date on all vaccinations. She is not yet spayed, but her spay surgery will be covered by Farfel’s Rescue and is required to be completed within one month of adoption. No adoption is final until the dog is spayed, per Colorado law. Oscar is a delightful 1 year old Dachshund / Labrador mix, with the best traits of both breeds packed into his compact, short legged, wiggly 25-pound frame. With his sleek coat, soulful eyes, and boundless enthusiasm, Oscar is the perfect blend of charm and playfulness. This sweet boy was found as a stray in rural Arkansas and while no one came forward to claim him, their loss is your gain—Oscar is a gem! Friendly, wiggly, and full of love, Oscar thrives on meeting new people and playing with other dogs. His affectionate nature and social personality make him a great fit for families with or without other pets. Oscar is ready to start a new chapter in a home where he can shower his humans with love and share his joyful, fun-loving spirit. Whether he's wagging his tail for belly rubs or zipping around the yard in excitement, Oscar promises to bring a smile to your face every day. This type of training helps foster great behavior, builds confidence, and strengthens the bond between dog and owner. At Farfel’s Rescue, we believe training is key to every dog’s success, which is why we require adopters to commit to this valuable step. We’re happy to provide a list of recommended positive reinforcement trainers in your area. Oscar has been fully vetted and is up to date on his vaccines and neutered.
