Story
** If you are interested in adopting Frankie, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Frankie was relinquished to a small shelter in Texas when his owner went into assisted living. Frankie is 6 years old, good with other dogs, and loves people. Frankie appears to be a purebred Dachshund, and it is clear that he needs to lose a bit of weight. He is a chonky boy, weighing 20 lbs, but he should be maybe 15 lbs. at a more healthy weight. Frankie's relinquisher made sure to make note that he is NOT a dog that you can leave unattended in your yard, because he will find a way to escape the yard to try to find you. We agree that no dogs, especially small dogs, should ever be left unattended in their yard. The shelter also noted that they believe he is potty trained. We don't know if Frankie has had any formal training. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young dog whose self-esteem will fly high while he masters his skills. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Our training requirement is to help every adoption be successful. Frankie has been fully vetted and is up to date on his vaccines and neutered. Frankie does have cherry eye in one of his eyes. Farfel's Rescue will cover the procedure to get rid of his cherry eye at our approved vet in Denver. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. If you are interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ . **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application.

Story
Sookie is a 10 year old Dachshund weighing about 20lbs, although she should be 10-15. She is searching for a new forever family. We don’t know her history but we are guessing she was loved at one point because she is the sweetest, cutest love bug. Her is what her foster has to say about her: “Sooki is a bundle of love wrapped in fur! This sweet girl always has a smile on her face and is the perfect companion for both lazy days and adventurous outings. Whether it's cuddling on the couch (she looooovea cuddles like most dachshunds do) or leading the way on a long walk, Sooki is ready to be your loyal sidekick. She's a joy to be around and will brighten up any home with her loving nature!” If you are interested in adopting Sookie, pleae fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2171921##

Story
It's Winnie Pickles! This girl with her happy adorable name is a super friendly sweetheart. She's got the cutest ruff around her face, nose and chest! We think she's a 1- to 2-year-old 13-lb. pint-size mix of Dachshund, Aussie Shepherd and Terrier --- just the right size for taking her with you wherever you go. As you can see in her photos above, she loves to snuggle! She loves other dogs, going on walks and car rides. Ideally, Winnie would go to a home with another resident dog she can play with. She's food-motivated (great for training her), crate-trained, spayed, fully vetted and microchipped. She's learning how to be housetrained, but we're guessing she may have been a hoarder's dog prior to being rescued in South Dakota. She'll need a patient adopter who's committed to working with her to learn this basic doggie skill. Summit Dog Rescue can provide resources and support if needed. For more info and/or to apply to adopt this sweet companion, send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly. Thanks.

Story
Hi there! My name is Brownie, and I am a sweet and timid dog. I am a proud mama who raised six babies, and now it's my turn to find my forever home. I am a bit shy at first and need some time to warm up to my new friends, but once I do, you'll see that I have a heart of gold. I am fully house-trained and I enjoy my walks. I love to curl up with you on the couch and sleep quietly through the night. I get along with the resident dog and love to run in the yard. Even though I am a timid girl, I have a lot of love to give, and I am sure that with the right family, I will come out of my shell and become the best version of myself. I am ready to find a home where I can feel safe, loved, and protected. If you think you can give me the love and patience I need, please come and meet me. I can't wait to start the next chapter of my life with you! Sincerely, Brownie

Story
Caramel is a cute puppy with a sweet and playful personality. This baby boy is one of six beautiful babies from his momma, Brownie. Even though we don't know who his dad is, we predict that he will be on the smaller side, just like his mom, who weighs only 22 pounds. Caramel has beautiful brown fur and bright blue eyes, making him an incredibly adorable companion. This puppy is friendly and playful. He would benefit from going to a home where he can receive the love, care, and attention that he needs and deserves. Overall, Caramel is a wonderful puppy with a lot of love to give. If you believe that Caramel is the right pet for you, please contact us!
