Story
Hello all, meet Lilly - sometimes Lilly Anna, or sometimes just Lil. She appears to be terrier ( mini pinsher?) mix about 19 inches at the withers and about 9 months old . This Texas lady is smart and eager to please, though not a fan of cold, snow and ice. She loves to chase her ball, is fast and can also jump quite some height- and kiddy gates are useless against her leaping ability. She sleeps through the night in her kennel ( box)- and if you put a treat in there will go in willingly, though she still tries to convince her foster mom to let her sleep in her bed. She learned to ring the bell on the sliding door within 24 hours to go outside, though there still seems to be some discussion about why she’s supposed to be out there- she just hates the cold , unless she is chasing her ball. She has learned sit and “show me the belly” , and is working on down. She’s working on walking on the left, doesn’t pull too much and corrects easily, and has learned “go up ( or down) the stairs - on the left. She’s eager to please, smart as anything, forgiving of mistakes - to a degree ( if you teach her wrong it’ll take a little while to undo) and high energy and still a pupppy, thus a home without small children or lots of energy is probably best for her now- she does feed on whatever energy is around her. She’s also an excellent snuggler for her age and loves to sit in her foster mom’s lap. She looks to her foster mom for guidance, which is helpful as she tends to get a bit nervous especially with new sounds. Her foster mom thinks she’d make an excellent fun agility dog, and all around companion for the human who likes a dog who learns things quickly. ##2276166##

Story
This pup was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. They were born in a neighborhood drain and were rescued with their mom Pamela. They can go home on 1/25! Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. Dogs adopted with our rescue come with FREE training from #GoodPup to help you build strong bonds from the start! If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free Pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with Pet First pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs.  Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive.  From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs. Thus, dog breed is generally a poor predictor of individual behavior and should not be used to inform decisions relating to selection of a pet dog" - https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abk0639 ##2267546##

Story
From Past Foster: She is a sweet, timid low rider girl who has been such a great mommy to her 8 puppies. She needs a little time to get used to new people, but she has shown zero aggression with us handling her pups. She has also been a perfect girl with potty training, and she lets herself outside with the doggy door. She enjoys some time away from her puppies and walks nicely on a loose leash. She loves all of the other dogs she has met, big and small, and would do well with a doggy friend or as an only pet. I expect she would be fine around a cat as well. She loves to eat and still needs to gain some weight after nursing all of those babies. She is very quiet and only whines if she wants to get out of the puppy pen to join her humans. She prefers to sleep on our bedroom floor, but can be crated if necessary. She is not destructive and has done well loose in the house. She is a wonderful dog who deserves a loving forever home. Pamela was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. She has tested positive for Heartworm. Treatment is covered at one the the rescue's partner vets. Story
Athena is the bestest girl. She is a 1.5 year old "dacshund mix" and UTD on her shots and spayed. The vet said she is around 30ish pounds but she is a low rider! She is a very excited puppy when she meets other dogs and is very beta. She loves all animals, dogs, cat, kids, adults you name it. She is potty and kennel trained. It takes her a day or two in order to get on a routine. She sleeps through the night in her kennel but if she needs for any reason to go out she will let you know with a soft bark. She does really good on a leash. She is excited at first but loves walks and car rides! She even stays by when she is off leash but if there is a squirrel or something she may try to say hello!! (Elssa) Athena will be available for adoption at PetSmart in Castle Rock from 11-3 this Saturday 1/18. ##1865159##

Story
Rocky is a 6 year old European Basset Hound and weighs around 70 pounds. He is super sweet but a bit shy in the beginning. He loves going on walks and car rides. His appetite is never an issue and belly rubs are very much appreciated. Rocky has slight dryeye syndrom and needs eye drops 3-4 times per week and his ears need to be cleaned once a month. I inquired Rocky from a Breeder friend in Arkansas 4 years ago and used him to breed one of my females a while back.Rocky is now neuterd. Unfortunately with my new work schedule and less time for my dogs I need to rehome Rocky . Please contact me for more info on Rocky .
