Age: 8 years oldWeight: 35.2 poundsDogs? Possibly! I previously lived with another dog and have done well. Please bring any other pets in the home for a meet and greet to ensure it is a good fit.Cats? Possibly! I don`t have a history with cats. Kids? Older kids required. About Me: Hi I`m Rowdy! I am a sweet boy but occasionally can be shy when meeting new people! I enjoy chewing on a bone or a ball, being with my person, and I enjoy a calm environment. Come meet me today! If interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website by following https://www.ark-valley.org/adoption-matchmaker-application/. We recommend calling the shelter at 719-395-2737 after you submit your application to ensure that we have received it. You can also give us a call if you have any questions or would like to learn more about a specific animal. Walk-ins are welcome during our open hours Monday-Saturday 12-5pm, although an adoptable animal may be in a foster home instead of at the shelter, so we also recommend calling us prior to driving to the shelter to confirm the pet`s current location. If you prefer emailing instead, you can reach our staff at to info@ark-valley.org, however, time sensitive matters would be addressed quicker via phone.Note: We do not DNA test our animals to determine breeds. The listed breed(s) are either an educated guess from staff based on physical characteristics, or from information given by their previous home.

Story
Hi I’m Chip! I’m a 4-year-old neutered male Chiweenie weighing about 23 lbs. I’m very overweight but the shelter staff is working on getting me healthy again. I’m a sweet little man who loves to sit in your lap and give you kisses. In the back office here at the shelter I love to jump up on the desks so I can be on your level and involved with what you are doing or playing with toys and chewing on bones. I’m smaller than most of the dogs I meet so I’m cautious around them, but with patience and a little repetition I can get used to them! Are you looking for a little pocket-sized adventurer? Come meet me!
